I don't know about anyone else but, after the stresses of this week, if I manage to get in the ground it will feel like a bigger victory than anything the team could produce so I'll probably just head straight home :-) Spot on. Brilliant.

How did everyone get on getting in? I was fine in the end and phone tickets worked fine. I got there for when the turnstiles opened at 10.30am just in case. No covid checks and no ticket checks just straight in with the phone. Overheard a senior steward telling the other guys doing the pat downs to "just get them in quick "

I've finally got my season ticket on my phone and thought I'd share what I needed to do to get it on Android, in case it helps anyone having issues. Problem is that the club has made a sh!t ton of assumptions about people's phone and what they have set up. Prior to this I did not use Google Pay (why bother, I have a cash card?) and a host of other things, so here's what I had to do: Install the Palace App If you've done the above then it should download and you'll see it in the Google Pay app. The reason for all the Chrome nonsense is that if your default browser is say Samsung Internet, it just fails with a message from Google Pay saying "this item cannot be saved on this device". As the app is opening a web site in a browser to add the season ticket in Google Pay, apparently it has to go via Chrome (presumably for security) as signing into Google on Samsung Internet doesn't seem to be enough. What a parlava! Someone somewhere has done no due diligence on providing instructions that don't fit the "golden path" (come on, that has to be a set up for German p*** jokes) of getting this installed and sorted out. Hope this helps someone!

Mine want download as l have a Membership card link to my account so this don't work for me. Palace inform me about it and are trying to fix it by next Tuesday deadline to load the season ticket to my app. If they can't l get a e-ticket, someone l know was told they get a card as even the box office staff could not load his season ticket. Thanks

I’m pleased to report that I received an email from the Box Office yesterday. They know that I don’t own a smartphone and are therefore sending me a plastic card in the post which should arrive in plenty of time before the Br&ght@n game. I’m happy they are doing this for me but I regret the worrying that the whole episode has caused me and others.

They should of given everyone the choice of phone or card at the beginning of all this. It's evident now that there always was the option to send out cards and I still can't find anything that says going full digital was a premier league mandate. Not sure what they thought they were playing at! Edited by SnapperKain (16 Sep 2021 6.08pm)

The point of it is part PL requirement, part cost-saving (long term, less staff required to manage ticketing, for example), part cost reduction, part inevitable technological change and automation. The direction of travel is the direction of travel. Contactless has been mainstream for years in multiple industries... not sure why anyone would think football and events in general would simply remain the same... 'The Premier League want clubs to back COVID-19 certification spot checks at grounds, irrespective of a government U-turn. Clubs had been advised by the league to prepare for double vaccination or negative test proof to become mandatory from October 1. That was before the government changed course last weekend, shelving plans for COVID passports for large-scale events. The league is keen to plough on regardless with a policy of making matches as safe as possible to attend, even if it means more stringent conditions for fans than those imposed by government. The Athletic understands the matter will come to a head at a meeting of clubs next week with a vote on the issue. Clubs have previously supported in principle the league's hardline approach. It's difficult to predict which way the vote will go. Some clubs have implemented the league's advice for matches while others, up to now, have not asked supporters to provide vaccination or negative test details.' 'At least one club want the league to make COVID vaccine or test proof a new grounds regulation, to reduce the risk of arguments with fans turning up with a match ticket but not the necessary COVID protection evidence.' If you have yet to receive your tickets for Liverpool , please email boxoffice@cpfc.co.uk with the subject ‘LIVERPOOL’ including your client reference number and we will get you on the duplicate list. How hard can it be to get this right !!

If the latter, what did you say in your email? This issuing of plastic cards is becoming increasingly random. We now know that if they don't have your email address you'll get a card; if you're under 16 you'll get one; and if you're eritheagle you'll get one! Please may I have one?
