How it usually works is bring one in to strengthen a squad desperately short of fit numbers, then celebrate by sending a couple out on loan to make us even shorter.

Spiderman wake up to the fact this is all incognito. Post what you like. Nobody knows you and you know nobody. If it true or not is irrelevant. It’s fun to read and may come true. It’s only conjecture at this stage so keep banging them out.

All gone a bit quiet but are keen. Want to redevelop the whole ground. I do not know if present owners will play ball. I have been told they will be great owners but knowing Palace who knows?

Will we have a West Bank in the new ground?

Please don't refrain from posting just because a few losers do what they do best - criticise others whilst offering very little themselves.

To be brutally honest I am giving consideration as to whether to continue posting, not because of any virulent fulmination, although of course I have faced shot and shell on numerous occasions, but over time one can outlive one's welcome, become a stuffed shirt and a yawneroo amongst the shimmerers who grace HOL with their presence.I am ruminating as to whether I have entered this category.

Anyhow, this is somewhat 'Off piste' and in the interests of HOL the debate should return to our potential transfer activity and not be de-railed by any responses to my comments.Thank you.

One more loan player to come in. That will be it. Will be very surprised if we dip into our shallow pockets for a proper transfer.
Peters at Spurs the most likely.

I saw Barry Hayles playing for Truro several times. Already in his 40s he was still fit, full of running and controlled the midfield. He is 47 now!

Might be a bit too old even for us, though he would be cheap so could be a possibility.

I saw him play for Truro too. They had McCormack in goal as he was getting his career on track after his jail term for the accident that killed 2 kids.
My local team Welling thrashed them 6-0 on their way to winning the National League South title.

I think the key is to look at what we need at the moment. As people have already alluded to, January is not the time to look for value for money. Prices will usually be higher than they should be. The idea of 'loan with option to buy' is going to be key for a club like us. We don't want to be stuck with a reject player that isn't going to work but we also don't want to miss out if they settle in (Loftus-Cheek, Batman, etc).

Looking at the squad, we don't need a CB really as we have 5 (injuries have cost us rather than squad depth) and obviously GK is fine as it is.

We definitely need a RB, so Kyle Walker Peters should fit in nicely with Ward as back up (sorry Joel). I don't think we need a LB. We have PVA and technically Schlupp. We also now seen that Riedewald can play there too (and McArthur apparently)

We don't need a CM as again we have 5 plus a few more that can play there.

We do have 3 strikers (4 if you count Sorloth), but we know that most aren't firing so getting Tosun in was potentially the right move.

Wingers is debatable as we have Zaha and Townsend. Ayew can play there (although not his best position as we know) and we potentially have youngsters like Pierrick that could be blooded in over the rest of the season. However, I think we should look at cover here too, but only if the opportunity to get the right player is there. We are not desperate like at ST or RB. I personally think getting Jordan Ibe in at the right price would be a good move as his move to Bournemouth hasn't worked but there's a good player in there somewhere and we are the sort of club that can reignite players like that, especially as we focus on wing play a lot.

Therefore, when you look at that, we don't really need a mass of players. I concede that we do have an ageing squad and need some young blood to come in, but the summer would be the best time for that and therefore my opinion is that we have Tosun and if we get Kyle Walker Peters then that would be a good window. Even better if we get a winger in. The squad we have is a good team and we are 9th in the table. It's the injuries that have hurt us as we have more than most other teams with a small squad. That maybe lack of subs or ageing players or a mixture of both, but that is a debate for another post.

No bank. Just a cash point next to sainsburys and Sainsburys won’t stand for any land grabbing of their car park. Not even a ‘slither’ of it, which seems to be beyond our billionaire major shareholders to negotiate a price for.

We did enquire but that was as far as it went.
