All seems very quiet which normally means he’s signing for West Ham. In a previous life, I reckon Parish and Freedman might have been a couple of Brothers from Peckham, always just so close to the prize but just about managing to bugger it up when the finishing line was visible. I think that's a bit harsh, on Rodney and Del Boy.

Why haven’t we signed him yet? Unbelievably slow ..you have to get things done otherwise someone else will get him... same goes for Loader or Taylor.....

If his contract expired on 30th June he is a free agent and can sign outside transfer windows. No doubt usual issues of 'getting it over the line.' I have no doubt Dougie is working as hard as ever to get a couple of loans in 20 seconds before the next window closes as usual.

I think the window opens the day after the season ends and is projected to remain open until early October. (Pundits seem to think new season will start 12th September so window will probably be open for a fee weeks after the new season starts). As for Fergusson, can't see what would stop us buying a free agent unless there other things going on in the club of which we are not aware. Alternatively, we may have someone else in mind.

I have heard mixed reports about the player and I don't recall any great demand for his services from clubs. He has actually not played for WBA since January this year due to injury and he doesn't appear to have been missed.

Despite several articles claiming he is about to sign there has been no official news. It's possible we're waiting to check he has actually recovered from the op before committing to buying him. I'd be pretty pi$$ed off if I were a WBA fan given they gave him a chance, sorted out his operation and then he seemingly wants to leave for significantly lower than the 11m we were supposedly going to pay in January (I've heard rumours of a tribunal amount of 4m, but that could just be pure media speculation).

I'd consider that in January we may have been willing to pay 11 mill for a fit Ferguson but didn't want to pay 11 mill for a `dodgy` Ferguson, where as now if everything had been normal 4 mill for a `dodgy` Ferguson seems very much like an acceptable risk we need to remember we are not flush with cash in the best of worlds and we do not know how much of an impact the loss in revenue from Covid-19 has had on our already limited war chest so it may now be felt that 4 mill is now too much of a risk.
