Supporters got carried away by the performance against a very inept Burnley team.
We showed tonight, how abject we are overall.
Another defeat beckons on Saturday against W.Ham.
Disgraceful.

I know Palace were disappointing.

But a bogus penalty changes the nature of the game.

Then the ref gives a corner, for no apparent reason other than to appease the crowd. From which they score.

Yes, Palace should have played better, but when the entire game is unbalanced from the start, it's a bit difficult.

It's like being run over by a car and having your legs broken. Then being told "well, didn't exactly pull up trees for the rest of your life did you?"

The entire nature of the game was changed by that idiot.

Some very negative and some quite silly comments after this game. People seem to forget that there are two teams and some officials involved in every game. Brighton came out of the blocks fast and gave us no time in the early stages. Just as we started to play and have a spell of possession a wrong referee decision was made which meant we went behind, unfairly. Indeed up to that point the only shot on target was from us. Brighton had worked hard but we had repelled them. The sending off ought to made the big difference but a piece of sloppy defending added the second and it was uphill from then on. When Tomkins, who had an uncharacteristically bad game, backed off making a tackle and they got a third it was always game over. Ten men who are three up will always park the bus and then look good on the break. They just did it very well, so credit must go where it is due. No need for panic reactions. We lost a game. That's football. If that penalty had not been given and, with us in the ascendancy, we got the first goal it all could have been very different.

Just back from the game and I have to say that was a disgraceful performance. Yes the penalty decision was poor but that is absolutely no excuse for the total lack of passion, desire and fighting spirit. Even against 10 men we were second best in every thing.

We have absolutely nothing on the bench that gives any inspiration and as for Sorloth well I can’t even put into words how poor he was again. He should come on and bust but as normal brings no threat at all.

I can stomach getting beaten if we put in a shift but my days that was totally gutless.

He lost control of the game and made some very poor decisions. However that just papers over the cracks of how poor we were

I thought Palace were alright until the shock of two goals going in.

I'd see Kevin Friends behaviour as tectonic plate shift creating a fault line right across the game.

A massive chasm that was impossible to cross.

He wasn't the paper over the cracks.

He WAS the cracks. More than that he was the massive sink hole in the pitch of fair play.

That's the metaphor I am going to stick to

We were awful. But unless I’m mistaken, the second was clearly a goal kick too.

I know it doesn’t excuse the performance away at Brighton. Especially the 3rd goal which was just pathetic. But Friend really was a joke.

I don’t remember a referee ever taking the sting out of a game for the opposition so often. 50/50s always went Brighton’s way. And then there were the supposedly innocuous decisions, in the sense that they may not of been penalties or lead to goals. But they added another few minutes for Brighton.

He was horrendous

I am wholeheartedly in agreement.

A totally unacceptable performance by our team and those responsible should hang their heads in shame. They have let down ALL of our supporters against our deadly rivals.Chickens coming home to roost.

Silly ... possibly, negative ... thoroughly deserved. Brighton are moving onwards and upwards but Palace are still knee deep in the $hite after six years in the Premiership. Same old story.

I have followed my beloved club since the late 60s and it has always been a roller coasters of a journey. No side can play well week on week but you do expect the side to roll their sleeves up and fight for the cause even when things are against you. But my days that was shocking tonight from all concerned.
Tactically clueless and a total lack of fight or passion.
