If we’d have been up against better opposition it would have been a massacre. Amazing how two people can see the same game completely differently. We were s*** first half but we dominated them in the second and deserved 3 points.

At end of the day it's a straight swap. No it isn’t. Sørloth is untried at this level, and putting him on for his debut in a close game is asking for trouble. Can you guarantee he would mark players as well as Benteke when we are defending from set pieces. Has he had enough time with the team in training to know the defensive routines, etc.? If we were a couple of goals up, or behind, it would have made sense to give him a run out.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Imagine the melt down on here if Sorloth had come on and lost his man at a corner for a Newcastle winner. All complete hypothetical rubbish saying he should have been brought on. We were excellent second half and we'll win enough games if we play like that again Quite.

Sometimes wonder whether Hodgson is in fantasy football mode mindset. Perhaps thinking, if I make 2 substitutions/transfers I'll lose 4 points!?

I hope the fat retard who decided to run on the pitch gets a life ban. He slowed the game and wasted valuable time.

Disappointing result but decent performance. Still 3 points clear, didn’t lose, good position for the rest of the season but I think a win really could have seen us nearing safety. I was so fearing a loss this morning that I don’t feel as disappointed as some but still disappointed. Keep on performing like that, with Sakho back, we will be ok. We still have only lost to Arsenal in the league for like 15/16 games, but yes, draws need to become wins.

But our domination in games such as that, aren’t going to be remembered if we don’t score the goals needed to get the points to keep us up at the end of the season. If anything as I’ve learnt from previous relegations, being really close to being good enough only makes things more painful when you do drop. You can’t deny that we’ve thrown away so many points this season, (even in this week) that we could and should be home and dry by now already. If that’s me being pessimistic then so be it. I call it being a realist.

Watched on TV. Could hear the Newcastle fans constantly booing Cabaye and Townsend. Were any of us booing Gayle or did he not see enough of the ball to tell? Hope not. Bit pathetic of them. Don’t think we’d blame a player for leaving us if PSG came in for them or if we were relegated and a premiership team came in with a fair offer.
