I didn't drink in Purley.I think my first time at the Greyhound was the Faces (pre Maggie Mae) in 1971...I remember it was an incredible performance.Nothing like seeing those bands in a small place.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

EXACTLY

It's just the new version.

Fine do it, but don't hide behind the "Im not homophobic" excuse.

I used to join in happily and eagerly with this kind of stuff. One day a homosexual explained to me how this stuff is actually offensive, and not 'banter', and then I realised I was being homophobic.

I'll bet 99% of those advocating it will happily deride famous people for being "fckg benders".

Being homophobic doesn't mean you go around beating them up, it means you think theres something wrong with them, and worthy of ridicule.

If you do it you are.

So having prejudice against gay people is wrong.

But having prejudice against a country is ok.

That's what you are saying.

It's based on and observed opinion from experience living in a number of countries and using that experience to make a quantified comparison. Some long words in there for you, so I don't expect you to fully understand all of them.

Although I could never hope to be as eloquent as you Flynny I do agree with your sentiments.
Being gay is just your sexual orientation. In the past if you were gay you had it tough - could go to prison etc. but nowadays no one really gives a flying f***.

Look at Part Time James - massive Tranny lover. If he went to a match and the songs were all about Shemales is he going to be offended? No. He'll just book a Ladyboy massage and get on with it.

Southampton Eagle - massive Ginger. If he goes to a game and thecrowd take the piss out of a ginger player is he going to be offended? No. He'll just claim he's Strawberry blonde and get on with it.

Saxon Eagle - chubby accountant. If he goes to a match and the crowd call a topless Newcastle fan a 'Fat b******' is he going to be offended? No. He'll just eat another Mars Bar and get on with it.

Superfly - former Jesus lookalike. If he goes to a match and the crowd blaspheme is he going to be offended? No. He'll just say 5 Hail Marys and get on with it.

Racist chanting is and always was awful. Singing a few songs about where someone wants to stick their willy isn't even worth worrying about.

Look at Cucking - massive Bisexual Bender. If he goes to a match and they sing songs about bisexuals does he get offended? No. He just buys another tub of Boy Butter and gets DanH round for the evening.

It is possible to go through life and not get your knickers in a twist about things. Some people do seem to be on a crusade to find things offensive.

This has made my day. I've spent four years or so on this forum trying to establish myself with some kind of catchphrase/stereotype that I could be known by. Ladyboys is bang on the money. Thanks Pikestar, me love you long time.

The Jolly Farmers was a great watering hole back in the day. Remember the Painted Wagon? Great for underage drinkers.
