IMO No blame can be laid at SA or the board. its the players failure to execute a pattern of play and game plan. I can only hope that SA can work a miracle and keep us up. Granted Hennessey was at fault for the 1st goal. but the next 3 and are woeful performance in 2nd half is a team issue. And when you look at team on paper it looks like a strong squad, madness. Completely mystified at why we are so rubbish.

The top four clubs last season all had in-depth squads, but managed to allow a well-drilled, starless team win the Premier League.

However, I just wonder why when the decision was made to sack Pardew, we didn't panic and just have a little look around the other possible managers before we approached Sam? It has worked well for both Hull and Swansea. You have to ask the question...why Big Sam?

Yes you do have to ask why Big Sam?

I guess because he's never been relegated. Did we get some sort of guarantee? No doubt he's on a massive bonus to keep us up. Any chance he has to pay us £100m if he takes us down? Nah, all one way of course, and that is why He. Doesnt. Give. A. f***.

Pardew was s***. But at least he was our s***.

Again, I doubt you know the history of my posts unless you have been profile researching - therefore I take your assumption of my posts being pointless with a heavy pinch of salt.

We resolved the real fan/armchair fan debate in the last two posts. Fair enough, long term supporter.

However, nonsense is as nonsense says, irrelevant of history or allegiance.

Well Sam has history of being able to turn loosing sides around. So I can understand Steve's' thinking on who to replace AP with. I can only hope he can this time.

maybe folks on here could explain again why this was better than under Pardew and that to lose at home by 4 goals to a team below us is all the fault of the last manager as I can't quite see it myself.

Poor in defence has been replaced by poorer in finances, still poor in defence and now toothless up front.

Mr Parish you clearly do not know what you are doing.

Hang on - give him a chance. Three of our four signings were not even playing.

Strutted around for 4 days, really stung by this result, really really thought we had turned the corner.

Can only imagine what Selhurst was like in the 2nd half.

Really feel for the fans.

Something is not right here...

Maybe when you keep telling the team they're not good enough and we need new signings to have a chance if staying up, they start believing it....

Wasn't there today as on holiday, but can someone explain how defoe scored 2 goals in 2 minutes, surely it takes longer than that to take the kick-off
