And then he left and they got a long run into the Championship. This season is a big test for Pardew as he has finally received the financial backing and control that Newcastle never gave him and we could previously not afford to provide. If we can finish in the top 10 in what is a very strong league this year then I think he will have proven himself. I will admit to being concerned after the WBA game, but he has shown that his talk of a new system is actually real and is showing signs of gestation. Sorry have to disagree with this. Weren't Newcastle one of the biggest spenders? And although the fans wanted him out the owner, Mike Ashley stood by him patiently. I'm not saying he didn't do a good job but my beef with the Newcastle fans was their expectations of being a top 5 club. Pardew managed to keep them about mid table which I felt was about right for them at that time.

I'm sure his net spend at that s*** hole was negative £1 million and he hardly had control during his time there.

In fact, if you balance it out over the time he was at NFC I think he/the club breaks even!
