That is f*cking hilarious.

What a diehard fan he must be.

To be fair to him, every football supporter gets the name of his club mixed up with other ones every now and again. Could happen to any of us.

That said and I am in no way sticking up for Cameron. Tony Blair was in my opinion equally as odious in his supposed support of Newcastle United.....

Given how silly Blair looked over that you'd think Cameron would have learned and just kept quiet.

And being a genuine "proper" fan never helped Gordon Brown much.

I'm no fan of Blair but it came out after his supposed gaffe that he was misquoted over the Milburn comment: [Link] [Link]

The Sunday Sun told him its reporter misreported him in a match report - "and the rumour grew from there".

The newspaper said that one of its sports reporters had been told by a friend about Mr Blair's interview on BBC radio, but that the reporter's friend had misheard what the former PM had actually said.

Explaining what had happened, Mr Blair added: "People asked two completely separate questions. One, when I used to go and watch Newcastle. Then someone asked me who was the greatest ever footballer so I said Jackie Milburn.
"The two elided together. What a lot of trouble I had over it."

The 'Who Will Win the Election?' programme could be interesting tonight. They have got some statistician on who correctly predicted all of the states results in the 2012 US election. They are going to try and do the same for the UK election.

They didn't mention that he tried to predict the last UK election and f***ed it right now. Then again maybe he's learned from that. There's nowhere near as much polling locally in the UK compared to US so there's more guesswork involved.

I watched it.

Basically there are too may variables in our system compared to the US to accurately forecast the result.

Tactical voting isn't really done in the US either as it's a 2 party system.

I tuned in on iPlayer and that about sums it on. It didn't really tell us anything and Richard Bacon is a bit smug so I felt like turning over. Silver is probably right with regards to the betting odds telling us more than general view though.

I was very disappointed with the programme. It could have been interesting if they had gone through all the seats where there was a realistic chance of them changing hands.

Yes, when you consider how interesting and insightful Nate Silver's analysis often is, it came off like some kind of meaningless fluff piece. I can only assume it's because comparing the UK and US elections is chalk and cheese.
