It's very easy to say 'pay the price' for this or that player when the person spending the money isn't spending your money.

Of course it is but based on the fact that a budget figure of approx £20M has been stated by the chairman then it's money that we've been told is available.

he did look pretty good in the air At 6'4" so would I against a makeshift Swansea central defence that comprised of one 6'½" and one 5'11" CBs, he's still grossly over valued at £6M, offer them £2M and tell them that's daylight robbery.

Watching the blackburn swansea game, im all for keep murray and no need to strengthen attacking areas, but in fariness to the guy came on around 75 min mark, had a few chance and changed the game getting a goal. Could be a good signing.

Or Chamakh is showingthat under Pardew he can be the goal scorer he hasn't been so far. Under Pardew, we've been in the goals in every match. Perhaps his predecessors haven't been able to put together a successful attack and Pardew can. 6 mil for Gestede is a bit too much. As far as Pulis getting him, he's not in frame but QPR seem to be. This situation calls for patience and that's coming from a rather impatient person, me.

Chamakh is 31 and Murray is 32. It looks to me like Gestede is a very good target man and only 26 - his best years ahead of him. I like both Murray and Chammy but Gestede may be our long term replacement for them. Especially if either Murray or Chammy will always sit on the bench... It's hard to say if he's worth £5m or £2m when he's coming from a lower division and the market is full of arbitrage and "lemons". But for a PL club, I don't think spending £3m more on as critical position as a striker should be seen as money wasted if the player doesn't do so well. I am really warming up to the idea of bringing Gestede in - it looks like a risk worth taking.

Spurs going in for Danny Ings at 5 million, shows how inflated the price for Gestede and Gomis is.
