I hate to say it but I can't see him coming to us. Clubs agreed a fee weeks ago so we must have talked to the lad and yet he's still undecided.

Did you say the same thing last November when Tony Pulis took his time to agree to join us?

Quote alffy at 16 Jul 2014 1.08pm

As for Dawson over Caulker; Dawson's best days are behind him, he's 30, so Caulker is a much better option.

Yet the top six clubs are falling over themselves to spend huge amounts of money on players who according to you have their best days behind them

Unfortunately I have a feeling he's going to go to QPR. You'd have thought he would have joined by now after the reports at the weekend. He clearly isn't that excited to join us, and to be honest no matter how good he is, if he doesn't want to be here then I don't really want him here.

Same could be said about him joining them though. Why hasn't he signed with qpr yet?

My guess is that he is either waiting to see if Ferdinand signs for QPR, or if a bigger team like Southampton or Liverpool come in for him. I just hope that if that's the case, the club turn their attention to other targets. No point wasting our time if he doesn't want to come here, use that time to identify and sign other targets.

Wow, have I rattled your cage lol.
Can't remember if I said the same about TP, if I did you have a better memory than me.
I said Caulker was a better option than Dawson cos Dawson is 30, when and where have I ever mentioned anyone who any of the top 6 ckubs are after, so therefore I can't have mentioned any players who are past it.

Always surprises me how long these things drag on at Palace. Elsewhere the clubs make an offer, agree terms and its all done and dusted in 48 hours from when it was leaked. At Palace 3/4 weeks later and its still going.

It's like it at every club. Look at Chelsea signing Costa, real chasing Bale, Barca signing Fabregas, Utd signing Fellaini. I could go on and on.

Why does everyone get in such a state on here

Because they're like kids on the build up to their birthday and instead of being patient for their presents they think moaning on a messageboard will get them given to them earlier.

It's not like that at every club. Steve Bruce wanted Livermore and signed him a couple of weeks ago. Steve Bruce also wanted Robert Snodgrass and also signed him a couple of weeks ago.

No-one is "getting in a state" over our lack of signings but it's human nature to want the team strengthened and to express an element of impatience if nothing seems to be happening, especially if the targets that we are allegedly interested are being snapped up elsewhere

What wages are Hull throwing at players though?

If we offered Caulker £62k a year instead of thee £42k a year chances are he'd be our player by now.
