Apparently the odds are tumbling on Big Sam being brought in given the state of things.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Already some chatter about Johnson standing again. Please, please let this be true. If British politics is going to be reduced to the level of some s*** soap-opera, then the return of prodigal sons is a nailed-on narrative.

She’s only really been in 12 days if you factor in mourning period and conference season. Joke

Truss has set a post-war record as never having called a Scottish or Welsh Prime Minister during her term in office.

I watched his "show" last night. It was more like a party political broadcast on behalf of the Farage Party than a serious analysis of a political crisis.

If the Tory Party splits then you can be pretty sure he will be back in politics, trying to lead the ERG faction.

I have no problem with that. Those who believe the things he does need a voice. They deserve representation. I expect them to achieve the same level of electoral success that Farage has always achieved and then start to demand PR. Suits me!

If the result of all this is a realignment of UK politics then I welcome it. Change always bringing better is a myth, but truly it must be true at the moment. It could hardly be worse.

I know this was written before the resignation news but it's one of those rare posts where I suppose we are both in agreement.

I know this is only your position because it ultimately benefits the left/social liberal political stranglehold. However, I'm of the view that until the right sort themselves out and rid themselves of their global liberal elements that the left perhaps are just going to be in charge.

I detest their social beliefs, especially in regards to children and sexuality.....However, economically I'm not seeing how they could have fecked things up worse than the Tories have.

Surely a resignation speech this. Or announcing a GE

That's about as likely as Biden announcing an immediate election.

At least they had a vote....and it is their party and the choice of party is what elections are mainly about.

Was you making this complaint about the selection of leaders when Gordon Brown became leader?

I was actually, I felt crowning Gordon was quite wrong, he had to be elected at a GE, he fluffed the chance too, as Callaghan did, while well ahead in the polls.

Truss is the latest non-elected incarnation and the shortest term I think on record.
