completely valid point, but Hodgson and the owners can't be oblivious to stakeholder unrest and that our current 'way' is becoming obviously out of date. Good leadership anticipates disaster and course corrects. We're at that stage now.

Agreed - which loops nicely back around to my point that it's the employer that should be attracting the criticism, not the employee !

Oh come on, you know it runs much deeper than this. Playing a different style doesn’t necessarily mean moving from the sublime to the ridiculous. There are all manner of changes that a new manager can make including shape, transition, attacking tactics, early tactical substitutions, seeing different things in different players, having a different approach to youth, fitness regimes, the list is pretty endless. So just to say that fans want to see free flowing high octane football is not really fair on fans who are asking to see change.

Agreed. I think the problem for many fans and especially those in the Roy IN camp, is who the mysterious new manager will be and will he be up to the job of:
- firstly, managing a difficult summer transfer window (quite probably with limited new money)?
- secondly, stabilizing the new squad?
- thirdly, not doing a FdB and trying to get the squad playing a totally different brand of football from Day 1? and
- finally, keeping us in this league whilst trying to transform our playing style?

Whoever comes in is not going to have an easy task.

Playing 3 at the back clearly didn't suit the players we had at the time.

But playing a midfield pair with the age, movement, and passing ability of Luka and MacArthur is just as bad. Last season we tried to add Kayoute to the mix who's worse on the ball than the pair of them and it was totally ineffective.

Whilst possession football isn't the be all and end all, the three of them can barely complete a pass.

Like FdB, Roy is also trying to force his way of playing on the team that isn't working.

Reidewald/Luka/Eze or Reidewald/McCarthy/Luka is would be the best combo's to play depending on who the opposition are in my opinion.

There's plenty of managers that could work that out.

If I start naming them, the deluded Roy supporters such as Tickled Pink will start hunting down blemishes on all the candidates career, and blindside the Roy's massive failures with Liverpool, England and others.

Lol, he did fail yes but they weren't massive ..come on, You fully understand my feelings as you've highlighted nicely some of our players ability in the passing department and I don't as you seem to believe dislike you, most of what you say makes perfectly good sense ..other subjects included.

I don't think that's a fair comparison.

With FDB it was revolution, not evolution. And 4 defeats and no goals scored wasn't working. Hodgson is getting enough from the players that keep us out of real trouble. So not true to say it isn't working.

More reasonable to suggest that his tactics have become increasingly difficult for the group of players that are now 4 years older and struggling with the changing demands that are made of them...

As for blemishes on candidates - the only one's likely to be free from those are the likes of John Terry that haven't had a managers job before and so haven't been sacked ! Although when it comes to him I can think of some personal ones...

Burnley hardly play attractive football and in recent seasons we have scored more goals than them.
I was just pondering as to whether Sean Dyche attracts similar criticism from their supporters to that directed at Mr Hodgson from our fanbase.

Dyche imo has a weaker squad and has had very little money to spend and has delivered top half finishes and european football. Football wise Burnley passed us off the pitch at Selhurst last season. Would not be my first choice but would be the safest choice to replace Roy imo.

Only two of our players would get in the Burnley team, Wilf and Eze. They are stronger than us in every position bar these two

No chance. Only Pope, Tarkowski, McNeil and Wood. Argument for Barnes. That’s it. Imo.

Its only opinion but Bardsley Tarkowski Mee and Taylor are superior than our back four who currently are a shambles

Kane was head and shoulders above anyone else at the time with basically kicking the ball at distance anywhere, at the time of the loss Gary Neville said the decision was happily decided between everyone because everyone decided we had enough good players in the box to cause them enough problems especially with excellent balls in ..and you haven't got to do the Jeez..!! for the benefit of others reading.

What the hell are you on about..!!

So now players that played for England in that game couldn't "kick a ball" any distance.

Mate football at that level goes way beyond being able to "kick a ball"..!!

As for the "Jeez" - simple solution to that stop posting such ridiculous comments..!!

I think Clyne has done himself justice but other than that can’t really argue with that!

Those Roy out fans who are so against the style of football cannot then be in favour for Dyche IMO. The football is the same, 4-4-2. Both teams try and go 1-0 up and hold on. Every game they have gone behind this season, they have lost.
