Worth a read, expands on the recent Harvard modelling ‘The other big takeaway is that, to really understand what's coming next, we need to know how long-lasting the immunity is and whether there's any cross-immunity with the other betacoronavirus strains. Differences in these properties lead to very different behavior on a population level. And that means figuring out the actual values of those properties should be a priority if we're to do intelligent planning.’
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

When he was going bankrupt his business only survived by a bailout and debt deferment from 70 banks which couldn’t afford for him to go down So where is this nous of which you speak?

But if he’d put his money into a bank account 22,450 people would be looking for a job.

It’s not as if in any way Trump did anything unique or ground breaking. The opportunities would have been grasped by others who likely would actually have been successful and not a drain on the banking system.

Or the 54m native Americans that passed away during The Great Dying, of which nobody ever seems to talk.

Can’t imagine why anyone is worried about another depression with all these budding billionaires waiting in the wings.

Yes it does matter. Trump attacking the WHO and scapegoating China for solely political reasons at a time when everyone should be pulling together sends out the wrong messages. Messages that are being received by at least some, as can be witnessed here. I completely agree that with such a crisis we ought not even be discussing it. That's the point. Everyone ought to ignore Trump. The media should stop broadcasting his press conferences, or pulling the plug whenever he starts campaigning during them. State governors should just tell him what his real position is. He thinks he is a tyrannical dictator and needs to be shown he isn't. Did you read that today he is arranging that the cheques being sent to support US businesses are going to have his name on them, as if they are a gift from him. Apparently this will cost both money and time to arrange. Now why do you think he is doing that in an election year? Does that matter? Yes it does because we need the US President leading the western world's response to this crisis and not spending all his time playing politics with it.

The real culprits holding up peoples payments lie with Chuck Schumer & Nancy Pelosi. When they were tacking on pork to the stimulus bill.

Who in Britain cares what he does? He’s in America affecting American people but he’s not a tyrannical dictator. Pick one of those to have a pop at. I visualize that a Chinese journalist is at Q&A session with Chinese president and the journalist is accusing him and his administration not doing anything between mid-Dec & mid Jan and letting virus to spread by allowing millions of Chinese to travel around the world. Surrealistic. Edited by blackheatheagle (16 Apr 2020 12.29am)
