This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

When you look at the way he runs and his general physicality, it is very different to when he was banging in goals for Villa. When you see him run these days, it seems as if he's running on his tiptoes, he doesn't look balanced. He's clearly not as flexible in the hamstring or achilles department as he was. Just look at how it used to be (Villa). I reckon the Palace physio dept. Have been remiss in spotting this and have taken their eye off the ball (so to speak). If they focus on sorting this flexibility/balance issue out, then I reckon he could be the man he was. I now await the backlash.
Confidence is a mental thing you can see clearly he is lacking some. So you are trying to compare a player who was at Villa 2012-2015 to now that is dumb the guy is 29 now and the game has changed plus he has had multi injuries To compare him fairly do it the seasons at Palace he did well and you will see it's because of the system and poor service he had a spell like this before Big Sam comes in he starts scoring again. He would of had to change his aspects due to system change it's simple if you have a manager that wants striker to run around closing people down and also coming back to defend that requires physically different demands to a guy that can hand around the half way line and do quick attacking bursts. The system is the fault the guy has scored 3 in 3 for Belgium. Just look at the lack of scoring from the whole squad so it's not just Benteke Roy needs to stop being a stubborn old man and bring in some coaches that know about attacking he doesn't have a clue. We have plenty of talented players we shouldn't be playing this dull football every week you save that against better teams. Edited by grumpymort (13 Feb 2020 7.09pm)

Edited by grumpymort (13 Feb 2020 7.09pm) It's not the system's fault Benteke missed 20 from 23 good chances in 2017-18. Goalscoring hasn't been such a problem up to this underinvested season when we have an ageing squad of only nineteen or so players.

With low skilled workers no longer getting a Visa, that's Benteke gone then.

Apart from the header he had an ok game if he was a mid cost squad player, which he is not. As the highest earner he was less than ok Originally posted by Aray

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

OK... He missed a sitter..but I thought he did well today. He was fighting for the ball, putting himself around the pitch and opposition defenders were under pressure. There seems to be a lot of criticism around the amount he earns compared to the value we get. Of course, if you buy a Bentley you expect the best! However... I go to ever home game and quite a few away games. He is certainly putting in more of a shift and from 50% commitment a few months ago, to 90-100% now... I think his confidence is improving and so is he. Just feel whatever, we need to get behind him and make him feel wanted.

He was played into the game more and made a nuisance of himself. Still some way to go to redemption but the applause when he came off seemed genuinely for him rather than relief at his being substituted

However, once in the area and faced with goal scoring opportunities he is still lacking - his shots don't have any power, and he gets bundled off the ball too easily. A big bloke like that should be putting the fear of god into defenders but I suspect they quite enjoy playing against him. Edited by Pete53 (23 Feb 2020 9.28am)
