Watching BBC news from early this morning to see their take on Diane Abbot. Well, their take was not to mention it at all! Main headlines were Brits in Sudan (fair enough) and more tickets on sale for Eurovision!

They did cover it on the late news last night, where they stated the bald facts of what had been said & done, but the emphasis was on the fact that she had withdrawn her comments wholeheartedly and apologised to any group she may have offended - so that's all right then, nothing to see here, move along to the next item.

Never watch the news in the evenings. So can I assume this morning it is a non-story?

Diane has learned a lesson.

Some groups have greater victim status than others.

Personally, I hope the race baiting cow is chucked out of The House for good.

It's one of those situations with the BBC that by trying to represent everyone, they're actually representing no one.

Here we go again.

Sudanese NHS doctor 'betrayed' after being refused entry onto evacuation flight to UK says the BBC.

[Link]

I actually have very little sympathy for UK citizens who against government advice traveled to the Sudan and are now trapped. Yes we have to get them out but the idea that this is all the governments fault is nonsense. Sudan has been a no go area for decades.

However in this article the BBC is really taking the mick this gentleman is not even a UK citizen he is a Sudanese who happens to work in the UK. So how have we betrayed him?

The bottom line: Sharp breached the rules of public appointments twice
The breaches relate to his failure to disclose information to the appointments panel for the role of BBC chairman concerning his relationship with the then-PM Boris Johnson
The first breach: Sharp informed Johnson he wished to apply for the role before he made his application
The second breach: Sharp assisted Johnson with a "private financial matter" in a "very limited extent" by introducing millionaire Sam Blyth to the head of the civil service, Simon Case

Sharp should have all his pay taken from him, and the person(s) who appointed him should also be sacked.

For the life of me :
i still cannot understand how a Conservative Government presides over a BBC awash with Neo-Liberal Socialist lefty loons.

the only explanation would be the Conservatives being rubbish too. Or the Tories being afraid of losing the next election. Especially if they incur the wrath of the main opinion-leader in the Land. It's probably the latter.
