Finally, news of the main stand. The contractors who made this have won the tendering process. They're usually into aeronautical engineering so should be exciting.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

What with all the attention focused on our managerial search, Parish' recent comments about the new stand seem to have gone under the radar a bit. He gave an interview to the BBC a couple of weeks ago in which he said that Zaha wasn't going anywhere unless his valuation was met, and that although there were plenty of applicants, it was hard work getting the right man in to be our manager etc and so on. He then went on to say that once the manager was in place and the transfer window was closed, he would turn his attention to getting the new stand project moving. There is certainly something going on regarding the stand. The gap between planning permission and the legal agreement was suspiciously long, and it is fair to say that work would have started by now had the stand been the absolute priority of everyone involved. As ever, we are left to speculate on what goes on behind the scenes as Palace (quite correctly in my view) keep their counsel, but Parish comments support one theory I have aired before: that Palace is actually quite a small organisation that can't do too many things at once. I picture Parish running the club like I operate at home - with a big old 'To Do' list, and me telling everyone that 'I've only got two bloody hands you know!'

No news. But good to see Leicester are putting another 8000 seats in to take it to 40k, that"s a club we should be trying to emulate, at least off the field.

As much as I think we had a great transfer window, what would really make my season is the date for the new stand to start, perhaps the end of this season Steve?).

well he did say once he sorted the squad transition (mainly done) his next focus would be replacing the bi-plane hangar with a state of the art Joseph Paxtonesque glass house - he has defied his critics this summer and I am confident he will do it again re the new stand - but I agree with what you're alluding to - we really need to see it getting going this summer.
