Another article from Bloomberg today on why it's all falling apart for the Single Currency
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

And that is the catch 22 and why it is ultimately destructive. To keep it weak the southern European economies cannot be allowed to flourish. Greece, Italy, Spain are effectively locked in to a fiscal policy that means they are simply unable to stimulate their own economy's with the fiscal measures undertaken to by the ECB to print off billions of Euro's purely done to enable French and German banks to survive given they hold most of the bonds. This notion of 'bailing' out Greece for example is nonsensical. All they did was create billions of Euros and hand them over to European banks who held the bonds thus preventing them from collapsing. Italy is the one that will bring it down and why they all conspired to get rid of Salvini who is the real terror that keeps them awake at night. And he ain't gone away because he planned to effectively bring an Italian Euro into existence. History will adjudge this single currency insanity to be the biggest peacetime disaster to befall Europe.

Listening to Prime Ministers question time just now and I don’t think any of them still get it. It’s all about who gets a slice of the cake and nothing about the real problems in this country.

Boris Johnson proving get again with his re-shuffle that he’s a fake Tory. I’m not sure who disgusts me more of the main political parties. Just different methods of national execution. Edited by W12 (13 Feb 2020 10.33am)

But I knew beforehand and disagreed with his immigration attitudes. I'm ok with HS2 and agree with the noises about the civil service, BBC and freedom of speech and of course with the general Brexit approach so far....but noises and action are two different things. However, he kept quiet on just how cozy he was to the left of the Tory party and that's is indeed lying to his base. I think Boris might just find out that the real right don't forgive and don't forget. If you vote right and you get left you might as well not bother. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Feb 2020 11.56am)

The Chancellor has resigned it was forced because he was asked to sack his team if he wanted to keep his job. I not sure where this reshuffle is going and Boris may make a huge mistake however if you are PM you want your own team and if he can't do it now he never will. Time will tell us if this was a good or bad reshuffle.

There's a side to politics that doesn't have to relate to economics and we need people who we can vote for that represent choices. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Feb 2020 12.37pm)
