Drugs companies making money. No doubt prices have gone up and what better than a shortage to encourage demand?

I bet they factored a shortage into their financial budget and when it didn't happen and their projections were wrong they had to engineer profit.

Some more good news, the number of EU applications for settled status has now reached 3mm with 2.7mm already accepted.

So all the doom mongers who complained this would be a disaster and lead to Windrush on steroids are mistaken.

I actually did this for an elderly Dutch friend and found it easy and quick to do. She like many had not bothered until it became clear that Brexit was definitely happening. The remaining EU citizens have until the end of this year. Some local councils are organising days where folk can go in and get help to do this if they are not tech savvy.

Meanwhile across Europe our EU brothers are charging a fortune and making the process difficult for british citizens but hey where the bad guys.

It is estimated that 3.5mm EU citizens live in the UK when this scheme was announced I predicted that the final total will be well north of that because the government doesn't have a clue how many people actually live here. I'm still holding to that prediction so early next year we will see if I was correct.

I'm looking forward to the UK signing it's first trade deal the more we can do of these the more pressure the EU will come under.

If we can import cheaper quality produce that would normally come form the southern EU states how long before they start telling Barnier to get on with it.

Then of course there are our Irish friends I have no idea what the fall out from their election means but hopefully the new government will learn from Varadaker's mistakes. The majority of their exports to the EU go via the UK not to mention the stuff they actually export to us. Insulting us is probably not the best way of protecting their markets.

And if I was Boris I would offer Ireland a favoured trading nation status to put further pressure on them. That may not be legal under EU law but it sends a message to the Irish people you are not the problem it's your politicians tell them to get on with it.

Such a lovely place!

Interesting article. The German people won't take it seriously until they see the financials relating to their additional contribution to the pot now we have left. I think it will3 or 4 years to sink in.

Plenty of Germans I have spoken to have already been fed up with subsidising everyone else. Many people lost money from their own pensions and savings due to the bailouts. They believed that this was due to the mismanagement of other governments across Europe. However, they can never leave. They are the EU.
