Yeah well done removing my rights. What specifically is going to make your day better today that the EU prevented you doing yesterday? Lots of new and exciting opportunities and that we arnt restricted by the declining EU. It's s shame people like you are so pessimistic. I know the IMF, George Osborne and get to the back of the line Obama tried to scare us all but great to see them all wrong. I'll enjoy my full glass ,I hope you enjoy your half. Incidently when I voted I didn't vote for change the day after I voted for 10,20,30 years of change as I don't like the direction of the EU. Some people are very short sited, you sound like one of them stuck in your bubble. Edited by dannyboy1978 (01 Feb 2020 1.44pm)

UTTER BULLs*** you are talking out of your arse yet AGAIN. YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN: Naval Party 1022: A Royal Navy repair and logistics support facility at Sembawang wharf in Singapore support of the Five Power Defence Arrangements. IF YOU BOTHERED TO CHECK CORRECTLY YOU WOULD NOT HAVE MADE SUSH A STUPID STATEMENT. I have been to Singapore both as a serving Marine and as a Civvy the last time being 18 months ago when we did our visit to our daughters grave at Kranji War Cemetery which we do every couple of years. I know that I said I would not reply to your useless posts again but after reading this bulls*** about Singapore I could not help but pick you up on it. I sometimes wonder where you get all this bulls*** from to be honest. I will tell you where I got it because it isn't bs at all. It is factual. I was there to lay a wreath at the memorial to the sinking of the Prince of Wales and Repulse. My father was on the PoW. My visit was in March 2018. I was hosted at the Terror Club by the O i C of British forces in Singapore who told me exactly what I told you. If you want an argument then have it with him. I didn't count the numbers myself. I took him at his word as a serving British officer. Any repairs are indeed done at the Sembawang dockyard, under contact as it is now privately owned. My understanding is that any such contacts are negotiated from London but that they are a rarity these days. All they now do locally is provide a bunkering service. I was also given a tour of the dockyard to view where the PoW was berthed prior to leaving on it's fateful final voyage. There are more Australian personnel there now than British and the Terror Club (formally HMS Terror) is now run by the US forces. I suspect things have changed at bit since you were serving and whilst you have visited your information remains out of date. Maybe you would like to apologise for your rudeness, but somehow I doubt it.

Weirdos Really succinct but totally accurate description. I have some guests from the USA here at the moment who are staying in a very respectable and normally quiet local Hotel. After our dinner last night I returned them to the Hotel just before 11 to find the lobby and lounge area taken over by a large group of seriously weird people. They must be local but they were all unfamiliar to me. They looked and behaved in ways that reminded me of what passed for nightclubs in the 60s. Where they had all crawled out from remains a mystery because I have never seen the like down here before. The men were dressed similarly and many had over long silver hair. They behaved like elderly football hooligans, extremely hyped up and noisy. Their ladies just stood around in embarrassed groups. At 11 they all started to sing "Rule Britannia" followed by "God save the Queen". Now I know they were all tanked up and over excited but it was a really weird sight to behold. I have no idea if this was a typical Brexit "party" but if it was then I am so glad I wasn't invited to one! Not that I would have gone, even if I wasn't already busy elsewhere.

This story can't be contested, as it is your account, but where is the footage? If there was *any* celebration in your town, it was by the people who you won't acknowledge. Out of urban areas voted to leave. Almost everywhere. Get over it!

We are, of course, now in a new era. Now that the stupid triumphalism has given way to hangover headaches and the realisation that Monday will just be another Monday let me predict a few things. For the past 4 years we have heard little more than the standard "grass is greener in the next field" arguments from the Brexiteers. Arguments which always find fertile ground in the minds of those who are perpetually dissatisfied, and who believe that any change must be better than what we have now. Well now the pendulum has swung. We are in that field, with many, if not most, of us wishing we weren't. Some might have followed as willing sheep but lots of us have been herded there against our will. If and when those willing sheep find that the grass doesn't taste so good, or there's not enough to go around, then their dissatisfaction is going to return pdq. Ours is already there. So the "grass is greener" justification will soon be replaced by the "jam tomorrow" excuses. Give us time they will plead, these things always take time. Which is true, but if people ignored the truth before then they will again. The boot is now firmly on the other foot. Many of the trumpeted promises have quietly been despatched to the "don't mention the war" filing cabinet. Who now, for instance, mentions the £350 million a week for the NHS? You might think it's forgotten but it hasn't been and won't be. If Brexit doesn't deliver then the pressure will very soon become pretty intense. How effective that pressure is depends on whether a functioning opposition can emerge. If it doesn't then I really fear for our future.

This, apparently, wasn't the only "celebration" locally as I know the Conservative Club held one too but what that was like I don't know although I know someone, who is a friend, who I am told went. I will find out when I next see him. It's not me who needs to get over it. It's the UK as a whole which faces the consequences. I will do my bit. Which won't involve just sitting back and watching things unfold.

Never has 'remoaner' been more accurate. He makes predictions but if you look at the predictions he's made on this site since he turned up....for example, on Trump over the Mueller report and since on his idea that he could affect 'malleable' minds over Brexit....it's only gone to prove how inaccurate he is. Some of us predicted Trump winning. Yet he thinks he has something to say that's worth reading. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Feb 2020 1.58am)
