What a great way to f*** your future up. Whether gang violence, school shooting or 'I want that', guns seem to be the answer to every question Stateside.

You won't look so clever when the citizens of the United States successfully fend off a British invasion BlueJay, you mark my words!!!!

On the other hand, if someone else in that store had a gun, they could have blown a 12-year-old child's head off, then that whole kerfuffle would have had a happy ending!

Ahhhh, America!

So maybe the bigger story here is how many (most??) US citizens DON'T carry guns.

Likely depends on the State in question. In some they have 'open carry' laws. But as a wider point in the recent school shooting, they town had its own police force and swat teams, so I'm not sure that the 'give the good guys guns too' idea always solves the problem.

Tucker Carlson on the politically polarised state of the institutions in America and its support of the Democrats. In my view it shows that America is on the inevitable path to separation.

Haven't watched clip, ENG vs GER about to start, but it doesn't seem beyond reason to envisage some sort of sociological 'boom and bust' occurring over there. Apologies in advance if that is completely separate from link or post.

I hope those on here who champion the 'right' of American nut cases to own machine guns listened to the testimony of survivor Miah Cerrillo. Perhaps they will reflect - but I doubt it.

At least with this I think more will come to realise that bipartisanship is dead.

Unless both sides are making money of course....as in the case of arm's sales.

I think in reality there won't be any significant change within these states. The shift in thinking is relatively minor and they still believe in all the core principles that have created their problems.

Nevertheless no one sensible wishes crime onto people so let's hope that they see some improvements.

Interesting that no-one is commenting on the ongoing Congressional hearings into the Capitol riot. A hearing which heard both Bill Barr, the AJ and Bill Stepien, Trump's former campaign manager, give some pretty damning testimony yesterday. Trump's response? An 11 page blast, accusing the hearing of being a "Kangaroo Court" (it isn't a Court) and repeating all his baseless claims.

Looks to me as though the wheels are coming off and the cliff edge approaches. His "base" will continue to disbelieve that, of course, but they aren't enough to save him.

It's going to be interesting to see how the right-wing media handle this. It looks so deranged and out of touch with reality that to try to defend it would destroy any credibility they retain with anyone other than the very gullible.

[Link]

Is this lack of interest due to people now recognising that Trump is yesterday's man and no longer worth bothering with?

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.
