Whilst I agree with the general thrust of your first point, I struggle with the second. Terry Christian clearly does wish personal harm to befall people who voted in a different way to him. He celebrates that. To try and deny or proclaim some sort of moral relativity with what is a political/economic POV seems plain daft.

I expect he would take some pleasure in seeing some Brexiteers suffer financially and from embarrassment if his predictions come true but real personal, physical, harm? I don't think so. I don't want anyone to ever suffer personally and the idea that Brexit is going to see the UK disintegrating and us facing many future difficulties just makes me sad for us all. I might be angry and upset at how this has been allowed to happen but that only increases my determination to make it right again. I think, and hope, that Mr Christian feels the same way at heart.

LOL. He says he want them and their families to suffer hardship. And how he desires to buy copies of the big issue from them. He wants them to be plunged into financial harm, to see their loved ones hurt by that as well. Is he saying he wants to punch them in the face? Then no. But he seems clear that he wished homelessness on them. That's not nice is it? Why on earth would you defend such a person in any way? Or are you simply unable to bring your self to condemn a prominent Remainer? Should somebody like Terry Christian be able to express these views? Absolutely. He is perfectly entitled to do so and long may that continue. But he meant it, 100%. I appreciate that many on the Remain side believe that you can pledge to say honour the result of a referendum and when you don't like the result tell us you really had your fingers crossed the entire time but surely you cannot be so mypoic in your support for the Remain side that you cannot bring yourself to condemn people for wishing the sort of harm that Christian so clearly does? I defend Christian's right to be an arsehole. But he's an arsehole all the same.....but then again he was an annoying arsehole when he was young as well. Kind of like the left's version of Jeremy Clarkson....just nowhere near as good at what he does....Except at being annoying.

Edited by Matov (28 Jan 2020 3.45pm) Then we must agree to disagree. I just think he was saying t*** over the top things for effect. I think he believes that most Brexiteers are t***s and whilst he might enjoy giving them a verbal bashing it would end there. I certainly condemn anyone who wishes any harm done to someone else just because they hold opposing views. I just don't think he really does. He is hardly a "prominent remainer" is he? He is just Terry Christian!

Interesting how labour and the left shouted from the roofs how we were in the Americans pockets and would give up the NHS. Well look at Huawei, doesn't look like we do what the Americans tell us after all!!!

Well look at Huawei, doesn't look like we do what the Americans tell us after all!!! Yeah, but they aren't interested in reality because it gets in the way of their echo chambers. Look at the reaction to Christian, and compare it to how they would treat the opposite comments by those on the right. As transparent as glass.

You can't help think that the political left have been defeated on Hol just as they have been defeated politically on the national scene. We remain an island is a sea of lefty websites awash with lefty activists.....and they have the cheek to complain about us.

Exactly. He is a mouthy northerner who uses his television exposure to express his political opinions.

I posted the link as celebrities like him and Hugh Grant do a real disservice to the perfectly valid political argument for re-joining the EU. One comment that Christian made that should have been followed up on was "I know what I am talking about I have seen the evidence". Well I would love to know what evidence that is or is he just parroting the project fear doom mongering. The simple truth is no one knows what is actually going to happen to this country we can only predict and opinions are like noses everyone has one.
