Because she's an interviewer without substance. The £350m a week figure was shown to be inaccurate early in the campaign and Leave dropped it, tacitly admitting it to be so. So why harp on about it now? And for her to suggest that that claim influenced people's voting intentions is, frankly, an insult to the intelligence. Isn't the £350m figure subject to a loosening of the rebate (maybe subsidy reductions).

Why then, am I not seeing what you assert on google searches? You don't remember the hoo ha over the no-mark MP (Wollaston) switching sides because of this? Definitely came up in here. I thought you'd go for something more weighty than breakfast TV, with a non-MP. BBC news had some good stuff. "4 hours in - we're not under military attack and have still got the triple lock on pensions..."

Hardly the same as sticking false assertations on the side of loads of buses. Edited by nickgusset (24 Jun 2016 10.38am)

Yes but was buried in the middle of an article. It was the headline reason she gave for switching. And the campaign she left goes on to clarify the £350m. You're clutching at straws if you think this wasn't made very clear pre-vote.

We see it all the time. Big lie splashed over front pages of papers for days, clarification that corrects the misinformation on page 11 in the corner in very small font. They shouldn't have used the lie in the first place. That's the core of the issue. Edited by nickgusset (24 Jun 2016 10.46am)

What a depressing day. I think both choices were hard choices, Remain because it meant continuing to expose the UK to new people and ideas, and in so doing make it stronger and more competitive. Leave is hard because while the decision means an attempt to co**** the country socially, it will now have to negotiate all manner of treaties while at the same time having fewer resources with which to do it as companies withhold or withdraw investment. The government has been pretty useless at what they are currently doing, so giving it a whole lot more to do at a time of increased uncertainty only seems to mean the outcome will be worse.

Quite agree. Not really a major issue, given that freedom of movement hasn't been around that long. The big change was the easy of employment in different countries. Back before freedom of movement, you could easily travel around and visit European countries with ease. The only real impact is that without it, corporate exploitation of poorer EU countries to undermine working class people in the wealthier nations. I'd be very worried however if I was a landlord. The rental and buy to let market is directly threatened by the prospect of an eventual decline in temporary working migrants. This has been keeping the housing market high. After all, if we end EU migration and phase out EU workers from the UK is going to mean several million less people renting in the UK - which could have big issues for home owners, people who own investment in property portfolios and especially landlords. Of course its good news for people who don't own properties or have paid off the majority of their mortgage. Aaah, my heart bleeds. They've speculated. What goes up can come down. What I'd also like to see is Chinese investors drop a bundle on their empty apartments by the Thames and Shoreditch. People who don't own properties. I voted for them and the youngsters who didn't see the housing crisis in years to come. I don't expect them to acknowledge or thank for it because they missed the thought of serving drinks in Europe for a year. But we need to actually stop free movement and renegotiate tariffs with the EU. BMW, Mercedes et al will help with 20% of cars coming to the UK.

Now people have voted to get our country back it's time to renationalise railways, energy companies and the banks. Let's give our assets back to to the people. Run them for us not for foreign investors profits. If you voted remain (as I did) pull together with the brexiters and push for real change against corporate interests.
WOWZER.... what finally persuaded you to vote Remain? We were all banking on you as a 'Leaver' or non voter.

Absolutely knackered. Stayed up all night. Thank goodness we are leaving. Had we remained by similar margin, it would have been because of the Scots and that minorities of central London. The average English person across the country wanted out by quite a wide margin. My wife now tells me our holiday will now cost £300 more because she didn't pay it yesterday. She should go and work for the Bank of England who were similarly complacent.
