Yes, but its a start, like banning the automatic fast clips he mentioned to, its a bit like saying why put up the price of buying cigarettes to 21 when kids of 18 will still get a fake id to buy them! If it saves one life at the end of the year, its still a good idea! No it isn't. Banning them completely is a good idea; no one needs a semi - or fully automatic rifle.

No, I'm not American. Why should I have a "side"?

Also, the gun debate suits both sides in terms of fund-raising, with both the Dems and the Reps getting a surge of donations when the issue raises its head.

The guy who wanted the unvaccinated to be punished thinks Carlson is 'nasty'. Yeah yeah Coltrane. If you think an analogy between Carlson and someone who believes that those who decided to protect themselves, and to assist in overcoming a pandemic, by being vaccinated have the right not to share the same spaces as those who refused to co-operate, is valid, then you must live on another planet. Carlson is a rating seeking pot stirrer, chasing themes popular with a particular audience. If he were a responsible journalist, he would take the opportunity to recommend sensible, easily attainable first steps to bring about a mood which begins to see the scourge of widespread availability of military as the real problem. The second is a simple statement of freedoms, which you bang on about endlessly. However, it seems freedoms only apply to those whose actions you approve of. I had no problem with people deciding not to be vaccinated. That's their choice, but choices bring consequences. If the majority of the vaccinated decide not to mix with the unvaccinated, that's their choice. Unfortunately, our government bottled it, unlike some, and failed to act.

The net is slowly but surely closing around the aftermath of the disastrous Trump presidency. Whether Trump himself will be scooped up in this trawl remains unanswered, but if he isn't, he will increasingly be swimming on his own in a big ocean where there are others hunting him down. The House investigation into the Capitol riot begins it's televised hearings next week. Steve Bannon has already been charged with contempt for refusing to testify, and now a second Trump aide, Peter Navarro has been:- The scheme they were seeking to execute, code named "The Green Bay Sweep", is described here:-

Logically the Republicans will do well in the midterms (as often happens with the party out of power) and so the tone will shift due to that. One of the more disappointing aspect of modern America's ultra partisan politics in my view is the complete obsession with social divides used to shore up votes. More than ever it promotes very short term thinking and gridlock rather than meaningful national projects or ambitious long term goals that benefit all, rather than this clan or that. As stated before though, clearly keeping voters at each others necks while picking their pockets, is a very successful way of distracting the fact that they all have common cause economically. It's a contrived class based dynamic and distraction technique. Maybe the closest people ever got to seeing that was Occupy Wall Street, and why and how it was soon snuffed out. Anyone tilting towards the extremes with all-in or line treading political takes should consider how they're being played.

They are all totally useless and a load of neurotic feminizised low grade over paid t0ssers. You just have it in for one side.
