That's not actually true. Whilst a few have moved out, as they do everywhere, the primary reason was a lack of higher education opportunities. These have been aggressively addressed, often with EU money funding it, so that we now have some excellent facilities. With the quality of life here so good many folk put a high value on staying here. Many try elsewhere for a while but drift back. I would have thought that all of the Londoners moving there would have meant higher house prices for the locals but what would I know. Last I went they were charging me tourist prices of over a fiver a pint - I think 5.60. So in many ways I hope the miserable tossers have been priced out. Edited by ASCPFC (18 Jan 2020 1.20pm)

Edited by ASCPFC (18 Jan 2020 1.20pm) I don't know anywhere here that even approaches £5 per pint. Our local is £3.40 for a very good ale. I don't touch British lager! You were ripped off big time. Some of the popular seaside villages have seen increases but those inland are really good value and much, much cheaper still than in the SE.

Yes but Jane is a brexiteer. Not in the same way that most on here are. One of of the customers is though. He tends to get ignored as he bangs on given any chance and those, like Jane, who respects both sides, don't want to hear it.
I honestly don't think she has given it a moments thought. The truth is though that continental tourism[ was quite badly impacted here last year and that will only be worse this. With British people also now being more cautious (just look at Christmas sales) the immediate outlook isn't good. I think the mid to long term looks even worse but I have little doubt your blind optimism won't agree. Oh, of course, in any case that's not the point is it? It's "taking back control"! Of what though?
Who Jane? She is 23, slim, blond and available. And I am liar. Just her character and attitude are true. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (19 Jan 2020 9.10pm)

I would expect there to be exceptions for instance workers in care homes. The main thing I am expecting is to stop people arriving who then look for jobs that has to stop they should already have a job offer. Edited by Badger11 (20 Jan 2020 11.56am)

You can always stop posting on here and that would suit you and all the other posters who are fed up with all your repeated drivel you are constantly ramming down our throats.....But there again I don't think you actually know when you do know when to stop !!!!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Strange that! I distinctly recall saying that you were going to stop replying to me. As I have always said as no-one is compelled to read my posts, let alone reply to them, the choice is entirely yours to make. Don't open your throat and nothing will get rammed in it, or even gently spoon fed as it is most of the time. You make yours and I will make mine.
