Maybe shows the frustration he's feeling about progress, or lack of, in this transfer window. Also thought the comment about being proud of his time in charge of the club implies he may be thinking it's coming to an end. Originally posted by Uphill

I love Roy but "potentially one of our best players" my arse. Since he's struggled to score goals he's not done enough to play his way back into form by running hard or intelligently for the team, being strong in possession or holding the ball up. If he is to rediscover any kind of form it's unlikely it'll be with us.

Fair enough but it was a petulant response to the question by Roy. It's a reasonable question for the journalist to ask because the rumour was reported widely across the media. All Roy has to do to clear it up is say he's not going anywhere. No need to go into a rant. Or maybe an exasperated response to an impertinent question? He explained why he doesn't want to loan CB out. You may not agree with him, but get off the manager's back! He has the team in 9th place FFS!

So, obviously not bringing in any more forwards! Thanks for the tip off Roy. No wonder he is so touchy.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Roy was more annoyed with the fact that the story was even in the press in the first place and he has every right to be. It is an absolute garbage story like 99 percent of the s***e printed in those rag newspapers. It has been the same with the made up transfer interest in Wilf and City supposedly chasing Guita which is garbage. In my opinion Roy just has pain in his face with lying journalists.

"potentially " is the correct description. He currently is one of our worst performers. Realistically it may be a hope rather than an expectation Originally posted by Rachid Rachid Rachid

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Realistically it may be a hope rather than an expectation As someone else suggested Roy was probably being tongue in cheek but you’d perhaps expect a bit more than potential from someone who’s cost £30mil, has been picking up £100k a week for three and a half years and is pushing thirty. Perhaps he meant he was potentially one of our best players if we sold all the others.

Well, I don't think Roy can be any clearer with that response!! Unless Parish wants his wrath it looks like Big Ben will still be in London after clock chimes midnight on this window. I like his use of the word potentially Roy obviously thinks he can "turn the corner" under his tutelage. However it has been so long since he has shown anything in front of goal you have to wonder what thinking processes are going on in Roy's head as clearly he hasn't been able to do this under him ? Surely best for all parties to part so Roy can work with another striker ?

There's no fathoming the club extending a contract to a striker who has only scored 4 in two and a half seasons. All potential is gone, Roy must know that.
