Over the fracking vote?

Who knows, or understands.

One mp who put in a no confidence vote on lizzy was made to vote with the government on fracking by the whipps- could have something to do with that. Deputy chief whip gone to.

Saw something being bandied about earlier, supposedly the three line whip that had been issued on this which was suggesting that this was as much a vote of confidence issue in the government than the actual issue itself.

Who knows? The Conservative Party is truly through the looking glass now.

Grant Shapps is on the left of the party like Hunt and was a remainer.

The Tories didn't get a 80 seat majority to have a remainer PM, remainer chancellor and a remainer Home secretary.....you might as well have the WEF make the appointments.

The Tories are literally writing their own suicide note with their own supporters here.....I almost can't quite believe the levels of incompetence I'm seeing.

This is all aligning for our return to the EU. At least we won’t have posters on here crying into their croissants that we should have never left. What will CP emoji about when a Labour Government leads us back into the undemocratic EU? Obviously everything will be perfect

Yep, completely out of touch with their voters, not that many politicians actually care about the plebs.
Tories will be in the wilderness for years and the British public will be at the mercy of the Unions, god help us

My mortgage has gone up around £40 in the last 18 my months.
I’m not sure the fact some are coming off a fixed rate into another or variable can be used to argue a huge rise due to the current inflation rise. That would be inflation at about 50% which it clearly isn’t. Not in the uk anyhow.

The thing is that a genuine third force in British politics could emerge from this with the only logical grouping being effectively English nationalism. England voted overwhelmingly, on a constituency basis, to leave the EU. And if we are pushed back into it, or as near dammit, then there will be a backlash. Many of the Brexit-focused parties are talking about trying to unite (not sure that will happen but it is being discussed) but suspect it could potentially be a newcomer. Farage is making noises and would be the obvious leader. Also, the Reform Party are claiming a surge in membership.

But every action has a reaction. With politics perhaps the truest expression of that.

Indeed.

I think Peter Hitchens was right about the Tory party back when Cameron changed it. It needs a near complete clear out and to start again as an actual conservative party.

It needs to stop trying to be all things to all men and being whatever a focus group or media journalist wants it to be...which is essentially the WEF party of power....stop doing that and actually be conservative.

Get these spinners and PR people out of politics and present the country with actual left and right parties.....not neoliberal versions of the same thing with different tax policies.

None of this will happen of course and indeed we will continue on with the freak show.
