After the OBR report all tomorrow’s papers shouting how big the recession or depression will be. It’s now going to be the big talking point. I don’t see an immediate big bounce back happening. Hopefully all the silly cvnt’s out there keep apart or stop meeting up like you see here and there so we can get to the case and deaths level to start getting business and work back again.

Anyone seen the most recent papers on how long this might persist? I think it’s pessimistic but 2022 now mooted as realistic regarding how long Social distancing may need to be in place for - not complete lockdown but an on / off approach. This chart was also interesting. Sums it up nicely Maybe I’m not reading it right but why would you opt for 4 instead of 6?

Quora seems to have removed it though Got a working link? Edited by Mapletree (14 Apr 2020 11.03pm)

However, if (and most probably) China hid the spread of the virus / alerting about its potential - danger, are they part of `We` that i bolded in your proposal? Because only if they are part of `We`, your statement that i highlighted in italic will be fully valid. I just have a feeling that it is early to have any deal on not politicizing this as well because it should be far away from being priority for the government. Edited by blackheatheagle (14 Apr 2020 10.23pm) Who decided it is "most probably" true? And if it is true, why might they have done that? Both are questions for tomorrow. Right now we don't have any tomorrows. We just have a series of todays. Of course China need to be involved. We might dislike many aspects of their political system and cultural behaviour but China is a reality. They cannot just be ignored.

Trump has been very terrible through most of this but I’ve heard a couple of people to begin with say how small an issue Covid is, only to then complain weeks later how little Trump has done. This kind of thinking will be reflected in their polls I expect. They will really see his economic ability in recession soon which will be interesting with a president so against taxes.

This is not the time to defund the WHO. It's beyond crazy.

Just like the corporate world. When things are going swimmingly, people queue up for accolades. When things go tlt5-up, you can't find anyone around you. Blame Game has started already
