Madness if we let him go to Villa. It will cost us a lot more if he was to start scoring and we started losing and we ended up relegated. (Unlikely this will happen but not impossible). Loan him out to European league side. This will be pointless. He could well knock them in for a Belgian or Dutch side (or even Italian/French - definitely Turkish). But we bring him back to an EPL environment and his shooting boots shrivel up again. Sell sell sell.

Loan him out to European league side. There is very, very little chance of us getting relegated this season, and if we do get relegated, it will not be because Benteke was loaned to another club. Most likely scenario with Benteke at Villa = Benteke is still s***, we've at least got his £120k p/w wages off the bill for half a season. Best case scenario with Benteke at Villa = Benteke actually does recover his form, and when he returns at the end of the season we have the option to sell him to Villa for a decent price, or put a renewed Benteke back into our team.

Basically, I agree although I suspect the actual percentage of Tekker's wage will be paid by Villa will be a matter for negotiation; I will be surprised if it was 100%.

Need to loan him out so he can find his scoring boots again. He'll never find them again at ours now. Until such a time, no one will buy him ... so a loan deal makes sense as reduces club wage bill too. #nobrainer

Loan him out to European league side. I reckon it would be crazier to let them have Batshuayi and for us to keep Benteke. I mean, better to give them Benteke so that Villa drops out of the Batshuayi chase and he can come here. Giving them Benteke would actually decrease their chances of staying in the Premier League.

It seems we all agree that our squad is thin-thin. We have got Tosun in, but ongoing talks about both Benteke & Wickham out on loan. How come? What if the Everton man get injured - we close to f...ed up!

What if the Everton man get injured - we close to f...ed up! Benteke is completely ineffective so keeping him as cover is pointless. What can he cover? I'd rather have Tosun, Ayew and play someone out of position or promote a youngster if we need a third striker.

"I can’t believe someone is going to suggest - when we have very few forwards anyway - that we are considering loaning out a player who we are badly missing because he has been out injured, and that we as a football club, or I as a manager, are seriously considering loaning out what is potentially one of our best players, to a club in France." Well, I don't think Roy can be any clearer with that response!! Unless Parish wants his wrath it looks like Big Ben will still be in London after clock chimes midnight on this window. I like his use of the word potentially

Fair enough but it was a petulant response to the question by Roy. It's a reasonable question for the journalist to ask because the rumour was reported widely across the media. All Roy has to do to clear it up is say he's not going anywhere. No need to go into a rant. Originally posted by taylors lovechild
