Or maybe a prosecution for discussing immigration. That'll do. What are you waffling on about now? The ridiculous reactions that the left have had to discussions on immigration....Especially before the rise of Ukip.....While they attempt to close them down with name calling thankfully they have no legal basis......And to be frank I think prosecutions would be slightly extreme for what we are talking about. The debate is legal so no one is shutting it down are they! The only memorable is example you have is Gordon Brown 5 years ago speaking, what he thought, privately... Let's have some examples of the debate being shut down please Edited by EricYoung'sSweatBand (06 Apr 2015 3.27pm)
I've been and a few others have been called a racist on this forum before for supporting Ukip. I think you've got your head in the sand.

You gave me one example of the then Prime Minister speaking privately 5 years ago to show me something that happens all the time in the media You don't need to look for examples, it happens all the time right? Just one example of the debate being shut down in the media. If it bothers you so much, I would have thought you'd have loads to hand.

"When lefties call you a racist for discussing immigration control it tends to close things down....That's been happening for decades and even now." ie "for decades",long before recent immigration from "new" EU member countries. I took you to have a big problem about immigration generally, not just EU immigration. Its interesting how your focus on the EU leaves aside that actually non-EU immigration increased faster than EU immigration in 2014 (according to statistics and I accept they are not perfect). As the right-wing Spectator magazine put it in 2014:"Of the 3.8 million people – net, not gross – who came to Britain during the last Labour government period, no fewer than 70 per cent were from outside the EU. The notion that immigration is a problem of EU membership just isn’t true".
Where I live in Wisbech we have been swamped with Eastern Europeans....So much so that the place has gained a new nickname. I've seen the impact it's had on the working classes here. That's a large chuck of what's behind my current political musings.

I gave you an example off the top of my head that you said didn't even exist. There are sections that exist on this forum where perfectly valid comments upon immigration issues have been with accusations, sometimes explicit and sometimes implicit of racism. Yet for you, you want proof? Proof of the bleeding obvious.....What do you want next mate, proof that the Earth's not flat? Here's a link on Question Time where a bloke complaints (maybe a little too forcibly) about his perception that immigrants to his area are being given opportunities that he feels should be prioritized to the indigenous community....ie those that have lived in the area for decades. When he talks he gets barracked by the audience and also the second speaker on the panel starts talking about race.....He makes racist assumptions about the speaker when he hadn't even mentioned race at all. Talk about immigration and you are basically assumed to be a racist....Slot B follows on from Slot A.

Yes, yes, i'm sure you've seen at least 6 this year. Seriously can't understand why anyone feeds this troll, he's straight out of the pages of the Daily Mail. Either that or he's on a wind-up and doing a great job. 'swamped'! Ha, ha, good one!
Apparently I read the 'Daily Mail' and I'm a troll and a liar now. Despite having been on this forum for years. Discuss immigration and you always get jokers like this. Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Apr 2015 4.20pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Apr 2015 4.16pm) I watched the first five minutes of that video and that bloke heckles the panel (he wasn't inivted to speak originally) and he was heckled back by other members of the audience. Why is he entitled to heckle and others not? Why didn't you mention he completely peaceful manner in which the first woman asked the question and was answered (until funnily enough that bloke heckled)? Even the bit where David Aaronovitch says 'black' is shot down by the panel and applauded by the audience. That is literally a video showing a debate, in the mainstream media, on immigration. How is this an example of the debate being shut down? I don't want proof, I simply want examples where people aren't allowed to discuss immigration. Don't forget your very first response to my original point that immigration is actually discussed all the time in the media was 'Ha!' As if to say I'm wildly wrong and you've managed to come up with one example of a private opinion (after a discussion about immigration) and an actual debate on immigration as an example of the debate on immigration being shut down. This is crazy. You also said I'm burying my head in the sand so help me out here. When do the media shut the debate down on immigration? Edited by EricYoung'sSweatBand (06 Apr 2015 4.44pm)

I'm not a troll....How on earth do you get to that? There has been a 211 percent increase in migrants to Fenland within ten years. The pressure this has put on the community and infrastructure is significant and worthy of note.

take it you live in the outer Hebrides ghost. Live in London. Been to A&E twice in the previous year. No trouble, didn't have to wait long, didn't spend any time deciding on the ethnic origin of others in the waiting room as I was concerned for a family member. Glad your families health issues are so trifling that you had time to note down where everyone in the waiting room hailed from. Even if you are lying.
