We found a compromise. Compromise? You are having a laugh! Some hardline Brexiteers are still pushing for a no deal Brexit and if we don't get the deal negotiated (which looks impossible) then that's still what might happen. A soft Brexit would be a compromise. A confirmationary final vote on the negotiated deal would be a compromise. Just saying "you lost" isn't a compromise at all. It's triumphalism which is bound to harden attitudes.

Then we happened to meet and after a while realised who our online personas were. We explained our life stories and why we held our views. He was an ex cop whose partner died in his arms after a shooting. He shot the assailant dead. We both ended up in tears and as best mates. Jane is a nice lady. You might also be a nice guy away from the keyboard.

The need for common sense and compromise has nothing at all to do with me or my own views. I would like Brexit consigned to the history books asap. I do though recognise that half the country disagrees with me and that their views need to be understood and accommodated. Do you understand those who agree with me and accept that until we find a compromise that both sides can live with this dispute will never be solved? The compromise was having a referendum which your side lost. Your kind made this happen and now you must live with it. Enough of your old guff.

The compromise was having a referendum which your side lost. That was no compromise! It was a cave in by Cameron on behalf of a fearful Tory party. That is called democracy. No it is not. Referendums are not any part of the UK democratic system. The only legitimacy was given by Parliament. They gave it and they should have removed it again.
Parliament did what we pay them to do. They used their collective consciences to do what they believed was in our best interests. If Johnson had not tried to sideline Parliament then a Judicial review would not have been necessary. He did. It was. He lost. Then Corbyn handed Johnson the election on a plate. the people have been cheated by the combined efforts of two leaders both of whom are unfit to hold office. Your kind made this happen and now you must live with it. Totally untrue. People like me have been trying to avoid us making a huge mistake, whilst staying wholly within the democratic process. Enough of your old guff. You wish. Until Brexit is reversed, or I am no more, there will be plenty more from me. If I go, others will follow. Reason and common sense will always triumph in the end. It sometimes just takes longer than you might hope. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (10 Jan 2020 10.54pm)

What do you class as a soft brexit?

You dont know if it is a mistake, you are guessing it again. Common sense has triumphed by following through with a winners requests.

Why dont you try a political forum where your views may be appreciated?? I realise you post ad infinitum on here in order to be seen as 'superior' but jeez its boring.

That 18% could have made all the difference as there was, in my opinion, significantly more apathy in the remain camp than in the fully motivated leave one. It was a split vote then and it remains split today. Split right down the middle. You cannot manage a country which is so divided by supporting only one of those views. You need to search for common ground and compromise. The 18% were quite entitled to vote, however they chose not to....why? who knows? However until compulsory voting is bought in it will always be so. You cannot use the fact that the 18% MAY have made a difference, it DIDNT, you LOST....get over it and work towards making brexit a success!! You speak of compromise, yet you refuse to compromise your views, always its 'Im right, you lot are wrong' No compromise there??
