So you are arguing that the trust you place is not to be informed by prior experience. That is an interesting view point.

It's only a viewpoint you could acquire from that post if you hadn't read it properly.

Let's sum it up more explicitly for you. A prejudice against the Daily Mail or Guardian would be quite valid if your previous experiences of them weren't to your liking.

But an individual article, like an individual themselves is deserving of being judged upon its merits.

Here's another example, 'I don't like the BBC, but that Andrew Neil is ok'.

I hope that cleared it up for you.

No it isn't. It deserves to be judged against the editorial standards established by the publication

In any case, the article was self-serving populist garbage with no merit.

Light not so bright.
What does that mean then.

Just another way of him talking down to people, who he preceives as being of lesser intelligence than himself

As I didn't use those words I trust that isn't aimed at me!

No-one "calibrated" me. I do though get plenty of support for my ideas in places which also believe in the EU and take a generally similar line. You will have to take my word for that though!

If you detest the hard right and the hard left in equal measure it is, I think, a fair deduction to believe you are in the centre. The centre itself is a broad church, as politics in the UK always used to be.

I don't think your light needs to be particularly bright to be able to see this.

You did WE
The last line.
Or can you explain what you mean.
I think it means exactly what you say it doesnt and apparently didnt write.

Perhaps you could now explain what you mean by this

It means exactly what it says.

If you interpret it in some other way then that's your responsibility.

So can we judge people like that then?

If we have a prejudice against a group can we just treat the individual the same way?

I repeat, it's better to judge an article on its merits.

I have no problem with a preconceived attitude based upon experience but the intelligent person understands that individually everything deserves it's own review.

Bearing in mind you denied posting it.
Remember us brexit voters are all stupid.
That's what it means I guess!
Still at least we know age and a bad memory are linked.
I had to go back less than 20 posts to find what you didnt post.
Maybe you need to walk the dog more and post less.
Dont forget your poo bag though.

I was simply responding to another post and denying the assertion that was made.

If you wish to see something else in it then that's up to you but I did not use the term you accused me of doing. That's a fact.

There is a tendency in these pages to make assumptions and attribute meanings that aren't really there. I sometimes sense a lack of confidence in the opinions being expressed and a need to lash out whenever the opportunity presents itself. You will note I often ignore responses that do that.

Yes it was my post, and I felt that the last line was a thinly concealed insult, but why would I waste time arguing with someone who clearly considers anyone disagreeing with him to be intellectually inferior.
