Typical Palace! Metaphorically, we gate crashed a Mayfair party with loads of cash & sniff … we’ve done all our gear, started mind sweeping - cos we’re skint - and the Russian ‘Prem’ bouncers have now got the measure of us! We’ll be leaving ‘da club’ soon … and not out of choice 🤣 Ps After 8 years, it’s a night bus home too #lesmiserables

I assume that Dougie is now going to have to make the call on who to renew which, given the club said they couldn't make that call, surely puts us in a weak position for persuading those with other offers to stay. Dean Kiely and Shaun Derry currently in charge of pre-season? I wouldn't be surprised if we are already on the phone to Marco Silva - he was apparently high up the shortlist and is someone who would actually just sign and start. Edited by ambrose7 (24 Jun 2021 10.55pm) So relegation then? Got ya.

Parish is presumably in charge of the recruitment process which was triggered by Roy leaving. Can't see anyone else to point a finger at if one is to be pointed. Perhaps one day the true story of Roy's departure and who knew what and when will emerge. Meantime, we are three weeks away from first pre season fixture. I don't think you can blame Parish for this one. It's being reported he was happy with everything, even the transfer budget but it was personal reasons he pulled out, probably explains why he was still unemployed. While it leaves us in the s***, so be it, I'd rather he change his mind now then in a couple of months, we'll get someone. Edited by oghash (24 Jun 2021 11.01pm)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Well that's disappointing news to wake up to. Bugger. We're running out of options...

Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

I think after initial interest the enormity of the job is sinking in and they don’t fancy staking their reputation. £50-£70mil is nowhere near enough to reshape the current squad and that’s notwithstanding our previous for behaving like fannies in the transfer market. I don’t think the current “structure” and arising lack of autonomy helps.

Can’t believe I’m saying this and I don’t think it’ll happen but at this point I wouldn’t be averse to giving Dougie the job.

I wonder if this is FDB coming back to haunt us. Trying to play a different style of football with our current roster and shoestring budget, and you won't last long. FDB has been the cautionary tale for Favre and Nuno before signing.

So relegation then? Got ya. Not saying Silva's my pick, but the only thing that actually guarantees relegation is a lack of players, and we've got 6 weeks to get out of that reality. In 5 days, the list of players we need to sign doubles by default. Our situation is way more urgent than Everton's and as long as candidates flip flop between us, we're sleepwalking down regardless of who we appoint. Whilst the Everton job in on the table, we won't appoint any 'fantasy' candidates anyway. Unfortunately, we've blown the luxury of time. Had months, time's up. Got to move now.

Now I really don’t understand this, Ok people change their minds Fact, you cannot help that, but if Favre has changed his mind because as reported the transfer funds are not huge. Then this bloke does not live in the real world. Football world wide is taking a hammering, clubs are losing revenue left right and centre. Every club is being hit by the Covid restrictions. World finances funds are being hit wages, contracts everything about sport, industrial the bloody world is in turmoil and he does a u turn because funds are not as they use to be. Extremely disappointed yes….rant over

Horror show of a website.
