"Our entire department is thankful that the officers did not sustain any life threatening injuries." No sh!t. They were exceptionally eager to ensure that was the case.

I found this quite interesting, seeing as the Democrats seemed to be always supporting the Black cause…At least 21 Black staffers have left the White House since late last year or are planning to leave soon. Some of those who remain say it’s no wonder why: They describe a work environment with little support from their superiors and fewer chances for promotion.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

This is a little exchange I have had on FB. Someone posted this meme, which is about a kid replying to his teacher who told him that guns kill people, that his pencil failed his maths exam:- I commented:-"The difference is that pencils are very rarely lethal weapons and never capable of killing multiple people in a few seconds. It isn't just who is holding an object which matters. It's what the object is capable of doing that matters just as much." And got back:-"You can leave a gun on top of a table harmless for years until a crazy dude touches it..... Got it?" To which I replied:-"If the gun wasn't on the top of the table, the crazy dude couldn't touch it in the first place. Guns should only be, and always be, in the possession of those authorised, trained and safe to use them in the circumstances they were designed for. Military weapons in the possession of the military in military circumstances. Sporting weapons in sporting circumstances, and locked away when not. Personal protection weapons kept by the person when protection is demanded and locked away when not. Never left on table tops.............Got it? Just shows how some people think over there. For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Edited by Wisbech Eagle (02 Jun 2022 11.27am) Did you mention that the statistics for the likelihood of a mass or otherwise shooting are significantly reduced if guns aren’t readily available to anyone? There’s a brilliant line in the film ‘Watchmen’ which I feel is applicable in this circumstance: ‘Superhero’ 1: We’re here to protect people! (After attacking protesters) ‘Superhero’ 2: Protect them from what??? ‘Superhero’ 1: Are you kidding me?? From themselves. Correct me if I’m wrong please but isn’t it an ‘amendment’ right codified centuries ago to protect from the threat of invasion etc? Nice to see they’ve moved on. Best country in the world my a**e. Sounds cruel but that’s why I have little time for most of them, not all of course. It’s the greatest cult the world has ever seen.
