I was waiting for something to go wrong. Actually got a lot of sympathy for Parish and the board... it seems it's been very close with both NES and now Favre where everything has progressed well and then at the 11th hour there's been some sort of U-turn. It must be insanely frustrating... which we will all feel a small percentage of. It is of course what you can only describe as 'classic palace' even though I'd say neither situation was really our fault! On to the next target...is anyone left??... Dougie LOL
They have all obviously seen what's what and decided the best thing to do is walk away. And you feel sorry for Parish - I'd suspect he's the problem, and he's certainly allowed the situation to develop as it has.

Searching for a new manager is becoming a Shakespearean tragedy - I genuinely fear for the club and look forward more ‘’ sleepless nights”” !

Personally I think we are shopping in the wrong stores last 2 job offers we’ve given. Champagne taste lemonade pockets springs to mind. If the managers we are pursuing stock is high even throwing millions in salary isn’t enough to get them to sign up to the palace project. We haven’t got the resources to support these types of managers (or appetite to support them more accurately). Disappointing but if we are honest we all knew this would happen. We are palace, we are not allowed nice things. I don’t blame parish at least he’s showing ambition sounding out nes and Favre. He’s got a tough job on selling palace to quality managers. He’s probably given favre the stadium tour today and favre has thought sod that l!

Well, I guess it's just the kit then. Can you go back to the chip cook in Doneagles who is your source and request clarification. Originally posted by dazza
Guys I am not here to to make enemies or to antagonise people all I am doing is sharing information. Yes I started the thread saying meet our New Manager (Lampard) he was a candidate & clearly was interviewed by Palace however my contact jumped the gun & got the info completely wrong but again he was only passing on what he was told/knew. Then it was Nuno which again was correct until he did the dirty on us at the 11th hour so not sure I can be blamed or moaned at on this. I then announced days ago before it was even being reported that Favre was a done deal on a 3 year contract & today it was finally released/confirmed by the media tonight. So when people say it’s been in the press for days there has been nothing until tonight that the deal is confirmed. Press conference will be Friday along with new kit release. Good times ahead now can we all just support the team. Edited by dazza (23 Jun 2021 11.21pm) Edited by dazza (23 Jun 2021 11.22pm)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

What are we doing so wrong for two top managers to get within hours of signing to have them pull out? I'm worried who we'll end up with now....Lampard and Howe would've happened a while ago if they were ever going to come....there best not be a taxi booked to pick anyone up from Swansea! This could be the earliest that I've ever not liked a season. I assume that Dougie is now going to have to make the call on who to renew which, given the club said they couldn't make that call, surely puts us in a weak position for persuading those with other offers to stay. Dean Kiely and Shaun Derry currently in charge of pre-season? I wouldn't be surprised if we are already on the phone to Marco Silva - he was apparently high up the shortlist and is someone who would actually just sign and start. I don't think you can blame Parish for this one. It's being reported he was happy with everything, even the transfer budget but it was personal reasons he pulled out, probably explains why he was still unemployed. While it leaves us in the s***, so be it, I'd rather he change his mind now then in a couple of months, we'll get someone. Edited by oghash (24 Jun 2021 11.01pm)
Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

There I was purchasing 2 season tickets this morning really looking forward to the season under Favre... Good old Palace!!
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
