Personally I thought that Eze wasn't particularly effective when he played centrally against Wolves with his back to goal and lack of space around him but came alive when he drifted deeper and to the left.

To be honest the whole number 10 obsession people have feels like a bit of myth. I've not been aware of many Premier League teams, particularly as average as us, having the luxury of an advanced midfield player in a free role drifting around for a while now. Chris Coleman seemed to underline this in his comments on Sky after the game on Monday.

So we cant have the luxury of a no.10 but we can have the luxury of 2 forwards with 2 defensive midfielders behind them who create nothing...

So our potential choice of new manager range from mediocre to failure at Premiership level :

I believe that a new manager would need paying, yes.

..but it's a little bit obvious we haven't it to splash about otherwise we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.

Dyche would come with a huge compensation package due, whereas Smug Eddie would come as a free, which should appeal to our Controller SP.

He'd be my choice anyway no matter how smug.

Wish some fans could really understand this.

tbf as a long term supporter of roy, who is doing a amazing job given the tools at his disposal, i more than understand roy is not a long term option.

however, what all you fans who want roy sacked can not do, is put any options on the table as viable replacements to replace him. not one viable option, yet you still want the guy who achieves & progresses the club year on year sacked.

with this in mind, given the stability needed to oversee this summers squad upheavel...i really, really hope roy signs a new 1 year extension.

That's incorrect, that is just your opinion, others have differing opinions.

There are many, many managers in world football, plenty would have got us relegated this season, or the last, or the one before that but equally there are also some who could get more effective results and performances out of this team.

You seem to want to focus solely on the performances of the players/ state of the squad and not the manager's performance when it is not a case or one or another, they are both critical factors.

Nobody has ever 'won football', no player, manager, chairman, team etc etc. It makes me laugh when people say 'I know more about football' or 'You clearly don't know anything about football', I dare anyone to define the parameters of what constitutes 'knowing more about football'.

You're entitled to your opinion, as are others, doesn't make anything fact.

you are of course correct, but when a opinion has not been attained using facts & well reasoned thought process it does not hold much gravitas.

Roy is 74, it cannot last forever and it won't. He has at best one year extension in him.

A follow up plan needs to be had.

I'm mixed with it all.. I really am.

I feel, ultimately, it's parish that needs to change his mindset.

We need to get a manager in, with a vision that meets ours and back him to do that, wether it be in the youth set up, scouting network or new blood... we can't bet against this league hoping to come up trumps.

Personally I doubt whether Dyche would come at all as he is currently manager of a football club of similar status to Palace whereas if he came here it would be as coach whether or not he had the title of manager
