I've only read a couple of pages, so i apologize if i say some incorrect stuff, im going on what i have read and what ive been told thats been said. But not everyone is going to agree with everything, if they did would be a boring place, and for one person to stand out and say this is what i believe is right everyone else is wrong is stupid and ignorant. Wouldn't you want people to believe what they want to believe that is if they believe anything at all. I am christain, do believe in God, the bible and the commandments, but i know people who don't believe in any of it at all. Not only do i respect their decision not to be believe it, they respect my decision to believe it. As a Christian who believes in the Bible and Jesus Christ, surely you took his last commandment to the disciples to go out and spread the gospel seriously? I tell people about the gospel because I don't want them to go to hell, not just because it leads to what I believe is a better life. Bean, I am actually not trying to convert you, infact I didn't start this discussion, it now appears all i am doing is defending my right to be a Christian and to share the gospel with people like Jesus commanded.

You just need to understand that not everyone wants to hear the Gospel, and not everyone needs to believe to fill a void in their lives, some people are happy just being alive. I won't be going to hell, because i dont believe that hell exists, the same way as i know that i wont be going to heaven either. I think you just need to be aware that there are other ways of thinking, other 'truths' which people believe in. However, your opinion is just as valid as anyone else, so dont feel that you have to 'defend' your right to be a christian, because i can say back that i am defending my right not to be. Im sure you beliefs are fantastic for you, but they are too illogical and fantasist for me to be able to put my hand on my heart and say that i believe. Well in that case I won't be going to work tomorrow because I have decided not to believe in work. Christianity is not illogical, you may have heard an illogical version of it, but it is not. To me, evolution is unbelievably illogical, and takes more faith to believe that than it does to believe the Bible. I am not trying to win you over to Christ, but if I have that affect that is fantastic. I just think that people have very bad views of Christianity, because of the way it is portrayed in the media etc, I saw this topic and thought I'd give my view. I'll pray for you Bean, maybe God will give you that hole in your soul! What is your real name though, for when I pray for you?

To me Christianity is extremely illogical, fantasist, but obviously you believe it and its great that you do, im pleased for you, but that is my view. Which is why i struggle with the Bible etc. I dont understand how you can see evolution is illogical when there is so much evidence to support it. You will never win me over to Christ, so dont even try. I do not have a hole in my soul so praying for me will be a waste of you prayers. I dont have a bad view of Christianity, i just have an objective and informed one, where i have looked at all the options Edited by Bean (10 Jan 2005 1:41pm)

Honestly you believe this but have not answered any of my questions, like I answered yours, that put massive holes in the theory of evolution. Can't you answer them, you told me you were informed. Are you just another sheep who believes evolution because they watched Jurassic Park as a kid? I hope not, but then why haven't you proved evolution to me, why haven't you shown me your so-called evidence, why haven't you told me why you believe it? It's ok coming up with theories you've heard at school, but that's exactly it, they are theories! THERE IS NO HARD, UNDOUBTABLE EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION AT ALL!

But Matt all your evidence is is a book, written who knows when by who, that has been translated and re-interpreted so many times, it is possibly now so far from the truth. Who did actually write the bible? Who was there to write it when god created the world, I don't remember anyone saying God wrote it himself. Talking about sheep Mattwebb and believing what your told. Pot kettle and black spring to mind. Edited by A_JsShorts (10 Jan 2005 1:50pm)

1. Where did the space for the universe come from? 2. Where did matter come from? 3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)? 4. How did matter get so perfectly organized? 5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing? 6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter? 7. When, where, why and how did life learn to reproduce itself? 8. With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?

I cannot answer those questions because i am not a scientist or physisit, i i do not have to justify my beliefs to anyone as i am not looking to convert anyone to my way of thinking. As for evolution, what about all the fossil evidence, species which exist which have died out. WHy didnt God just create the perfect one to start with? Who created God because he cannot have created himself
