I suppose now that he and Tony B.Liar have shook hands, Gadaffi is our friend again. It could be worse, it could be George Bush buying the club.

As much as I would like to see Palace successful, this is an absolute joke. He could've picked any club in the world, why palace? Selhurst_Gazza at 17 Jul 2004 6:37pm The club WOULD lose alot of faithful supporters who have stuck by palace through thick and thin. Quote SpikeyMatt at 17 Jul 2004 9:01pm
And he's not interested either.... From Sky Sports [Link] I've always been of the opinion that there is no smoke without fire (or smoke bombs!). I think this guy may have been looking for a way into the Premiership for one reason or another. maybe he is bored with negative Italian tactics and wants some excitement? I don't know... So in response to Madcap's comment, chances are if that were the case, then after SJ said he may sell on after we won in Cardiff, he may have seen us as an easy way in? Selhurst Gazza - totally with you on your comment. Maybe the fans would be replace with others but lots of the current fans would not stick around. Do we want to become a new, albeit richer version of Wimbledon? And finally before I hit the sack, SpikeyMatt - four words here may or may not be relevant to this situation: Real Madrid, David Beckham. Was interest not denied a month before Becks put pen to paper? Is anyone else getting a Deja vu feeling? Edited by mikeyeagle (18 Jul 2004 1:07am)

I think it might be wise to avoid getting on to the subject of Iraq here. Many people have strong opinions one way or the other and it could easily get out of hand! Just my 2 cents... Edited by HKfan (18 Jul 2004 2:37am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'what to do about gadaffi' by Cucking Funt i know if gadaffi pours millions into palace then we might win something, but the guy's got blood on his hands. realsitically, looking at the big three even with millions we're only going to win the league cup. sorry but the milk/coca/cola/rumbelows/whatever the hell its now called cup is not worth shaking hands with a guy who puts his opponents through sausage making machines alive (read it on the amnesty website). if you disagree with me, fair enough, but if you want to do something about it, please post a reply

Her'es an overview from the manesty international website. You can read the whole thing at [Link] There continued to be widespread human rights violations. Legislation criminalizing peaceful political activities remained in force. The security forces continued to arbitrarily arrest real or alleged political opponents, and to detain them incommunicado for long periods without charge. There were reports of torture and ill-treatment. Unfair trials before People's Courts continued to lead to the imprisonment of political opponents. There was no significant progress in shedding light on the human rights violations of the past, including deaths in custody and "disappearances". Political prisoners detained in previous years remained in prison.

after reading the sky sports article, i think it was all mnade up otherwise he would have confimed his intrest in us. GADDAFI DENIES PALACE BID Palace chairman Simon Jordan confirmed that he would listen to offers from Gaddafi - but now that seems unlikely. It had been reported that Gaddafi along with sons Muhamar and Saadi - who plays for Perugia in Italy - were looking at the prospect of buying into Palace, but this has now been denied. "Mr Gaddafi had been informed about the rumours that bounded him to a possible interest to buy Crystal Palace, but he knew nothing and he isn't involved in this situation," said the spokesman. Meanwhile, Saadi has confirmed his future lies with Perugia after he agreed a new one-year deal. Following Perugia's relegation he had been linked with a move away, but he has now joined the club for pre-season training.

I haven't voiced my opinion on this yet and I can't be bothered to read 24 pages to see if anyone has the same opinion as me. Jordan should be ashamed to call himself a Palace fan if he sells to Gadaffi - why would anyone sell the club they love to a known terrorist? This would ruin football, ruin Crystal Palace that we know and love. If this is true, and Jordan sells, where would this leave Dowie? Where would this leave the fans? I know it's only speculation at the moment but if Jordan sells to this man I will seriously think about giving up supporting Palace. So let's hope it's utter crap then...

Daffi denies having any interest in us, and direct quotes have been taken from him. It was bulls***e speculation used as publicity stunt. Not a very clever one tho'. It stirred up interest and media awareness.wow.
