My feelings summed up over this news.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

I would have liked another year but feel this is the next best possible outcome. His departure was inevitable and his decision to snub Chelsea at £35M has been beneficial to him and us!

Bayern are a top 6 CL club and will offer him a great route to the top. Not seeing him in the PL with another club is an absolute bonus!

Sad to see him go but the financials are good for a club like us!

I’m in shock as we posted a video of Michael promoting our new kit last week , why would we do that if he’s leaving. Until I see palace confirm it I will live in hope.

Just read Mega bucks Chelsea pulled out because of wage demands. Sounds pure BS based on there history!

Arrogant club, arrogant supporters and like spoilt brats who don’t get there way, start crying!

Michael you dodged a bullet there!

Does anyone know what the percentage is that Reading make?

Pure guess but 15%-20% of the profit seems standard these days!!!

Gutted.
Wish the kid well at Bayern. He should go all the way now.
Unlike Wilf, he has got his timing perfect and landing a top world club at Bayern the sky is the limit for him.
Just hope he stays strong and well.

They really need it.

Would assume Freedman would have prepared for this and already scouted out some possible replacements. Huge summer for Rak-Sakyi and Ebiowei to try to stake a claim in pre-season if they can adapt to Glasnerball as this season will be last chance saloon for the two of them but if they can come good, then Palace can re-invest the money from Olise elsewhere.

Obviously disappointing news but let's try and be philosophical about this.

Firstly we thought he was going last summer. He stayed, had a brilliant season, helped keep us up and we've probably earnt an extra £20-30m as a result.

Secondly, we all knew it would come at some point, whether this summer or next. It happening right at the start of the transfer window gives us plenty of time to find a replacement.

Third, his injury record is dodgy with that hamstring. According to transermarkt he's missed 21 games with it over the last two seasons. I hope he never gets injured again but it's a concern.

Finally, the trajectories of players like Olise, Wharton, Guehi and Eze will only convince the best young players to come here. Dougie will have contingency plans in place and now, hopefully, has some money to make our squad stronger.

I think the garish new home shirt put him off lol. I'm hoping Dougie can find another gem. I'd put Olise in the top 5 players in the world, so not an easy task!

Not to mention Franca.

This would be the same Chelsea that the media have been saying for a number of weeks that personal terms had already been
agreed ?

If indeed Michael Olise' has chosen Bayern over Chelsea, with Chelsea trying to convince people that the players wage demands were the problem, to try to make it appear as though they were actually in control of the deal, they just don't want to openly admit that a player they badly wanted has now had the audacity to turn them down twice.
