This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Anyone that reads my posts and I dont blame anyone for skipping past them will know I have been a critic of this awful system and the way its been implemented from the get go .

We have now had it for a few years and we can see as plain as day the pros and cons of how its use and how they have messed it up .

For me if they are going to carry on using it as they do now then 100% get rid of it

To keep it they should IMO go back to actually refereeing the game as if it wasn't there and we go with on field decisions

The only time it needs to be used is if the referee ASKS to have another look at a key decision that he is not clear on or when the lino indicates that he might want to take another look at it (the ref can always pull rank and say no). We don't need people in a room 100 miles away calling the shots .
Of course we stick with the goal line technology

It works in every other league except the premier league. It worked perfectly in the world cup and you will see it work perfectly in the euros this summer.

The issue is not VAR is the officials using it.

Well done Wolves for leading the calls to scrap VAR. It won't happen though. Too much has been invested in it's operation to call it a day now.

I'm with Elpis and Goal Machine in being a critic on here in the past. I much prefer the instant, on field decision to the mind numbing delay while a remote arbitrator decides that the goal should be wiped out because the scorer was two inches offside.

To err is human and a referee can make mistakes, but using VAR doesn't rule that out. Mistakes are still made.

If it's not scrapped, it bloomin' well needs improving.

I too have long been a critic of VAR. It's obivous to be that the implementation of the technology is not up to it. That's either down to the imbeciles using it, or simply the technology isn't good enough for the imbeciles to use it effectively.

I also think that where VAR has failed is buried in human nature. What VAR was sold as was to give clarity and a view that definitively clears up any misunderstanding or rule infringements missed or misinterpreted by the onfield referring team.
What it's actually done is provide more evidence to debate on. i.e. there is no one singular opinion on how the handball rule should be applied. one persons deliberate is another's accidental. One person sees a reckless challenge where another sees a minor misjudgment.
Even Offside, which should be Binary is applied badly and causing arguments.
Add into that the 'everyone's-a-pundit' psyche of your average twitter(X) user, and you are never going to get one solution where all decisions are agreed with.

Until VAR can be brought in with an application(using increased clarity of rule making and undeniable technology) that can achieve absolute flawlessness, these debates will continue and therefore a sole onfield Referring team is the better option.
