Yes, such a shame. I did wonder when people were calling for him instead of Ward what PV was seeing on the training pitch and now we now. He's done ok, but looks uncomfortable in possession and the attacking overlap has disappeared. Still only 30, but i think 2 years of injuries have permanently taken their toll. A good squad player at best. His greatest drawback is he is so so right-footed. If you look, it's the only one he ever uses. This limits hi passing options greatly.

Agree Clyne is very one footed, but to be fair most players are. Ward is too and AWB was/is, PVA, Tekkers etc. The bloke played 14 times for England and was a regular for one of the country's biggest teams (who have 2 excellent, but very one footed full backs now) using 1 foot only. IMHO he is just a shadow of his former self. He knows he has lost a yard of pace and that seems to have effected his confidence and therefore his all round game.

The fact that he has only played 7 times for us(3 as a sub) this season doesn't figure in this?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Every premier team huffed and puffed against so called lesser opponents and one got beaten. Judge nothing save we got through.

Agreed, Thai-Eagle. I wonder if PV has given Tayo playing time at right back. With Ward out and Clyne only a tackle away from injury, the move might make sense.

I would imagine we are now targeting next season. Just hope he can put the last two years behind him. I heard he has real talent.
