There are only 10,000 people living there. I wouldn't be surprised if its ratio is as bad. I would lock your bike just in case.

Here is a snippet taken from the home office's look at trends in homicide that itself admits the increases in murder rate against population size....though it is careful not to look into the reasons for it. What do trends in homicide look like? There were 671 offences currently recorded as homicides in the year ending March 2019.1 This was 33 fewer (5% decrease) than in the previous year (Appendix Table 1). To put the number of homicides in context, incidence rates show the volume of offences as a proportion of the resident population. The incidence rate for homicide remains very low, with 11.4 homicides recorded per million population during the year ending March 2019, a similar rate to the previous two years. The number of homicides increased from around 300 per year in the early 1960s to over 700 per year in the early years of this century. This was at a faster rate than population growth over the same period, with the rate of homicide increasing from around 6 per million population in the early 1960s to 15.2 by the year ending March 2002.2 However, from the peak in this year, the volume of homicides generally decreased while the population of England and Wales continued to grow. The rate of homicide fell to 8.9 per million population in the year ending March 2015, before increasing until the year ending March 2018 (12.0). The latest year shows the first fall in homicides since the year ending March 2015, and a slight decrease in the homicide rate (Figure 1).'

There will always be something he tries to use to shoehorn in to fit his ideology no matter how tenuous or statistically illiterate. Read the home office's own words. The sad thing Dan is that you aren't really interested in truth. Also, there are plenty in economics who think your faith in MMT is foolish in the extreme......watching inflation are you? Not true tbh. The useless ones got called out 2 years ago and went crying to the press. The left wing media then tried to have ms Patel for bullying. You've had a company steeleye I think. Would you employ idiots just because!

I sympathise with the people of Calais in many respects. They have all these troubled people attracted and camped there because they want to come to Britain. Admittedly most are economic migrants who just want a better life. I would be front of the queue if I was one of them coming from their awful countries where corruption rules supreme. I have friends in France near Calais who confirm the French have always waved them on and turned a blind eye. International law (is in this respect) for the naive and out of touch. The French don’t abide by it and we need to make policy to counter-act but still with a good heart.
The beatings will stop when morale improves. |

Afghanistan Albania Edited by PalazioVecchio (13 Sep 2021 7.36pm) Indeed there is no causal link. Even the link that you posted about murder rates in Jamaica says that the number of murders is falling. This book offers up a balanced view on the subject of immigration and crime and concludes that immigration does not lead to an increase in crime. Fasani, F., Mastrobuoni, G., Owens, E., & Pinotti, P. (2019).
