The Democrats are awful.

But they aren't all stupid, and what they have now is a president who is half the mental capacity he was even ten years ago.

Harris is a prime example of an over promotion...tokenism taken to dangerous extremes.

I watched some of the Democrat candidate debates.....the brightest there was Buttigieg, anyone with half a brain would have listened to the military and intelligence services on how to withdraw....because they are all coming out and pointing the finger at Biden.

The world is in quite a dangerous period, we need a figure in charge who doesn't seem weak.

Though obviously politically I'd like the most right wing Democrat on that stage who was Tulsi Gabbard.

Karl Marx said history repeats itself, first as tragedy and then as farce.....and he should have known, he had a giant beard.

20 years, 4 presidents, and trillions of dollars and thousands of dead and maimed, all to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.....you just got to love that elite class, loaded with money and eternally f***ing up.

Apparently there is a resistance group(s) that are currently out of reach of the Taliban. News from Afghanistan is difficult to put any credibility to.

As for local atrocities being committed by the Taliban, this is slightly more believable due to factors such as :
The Taliban is not an infinitely structured organisation, particularly at local levels.
Members of the Taliban may have person grievances to settle with individuals.
The Taliban, as with ISIS, attracts many nutters who want to have a gun and do 5hlt.

Essentially the West wants us to believe that the Taliban took over ALL of Afghanistan, including areas in which the majority of its members do not even speak the lanague, where everybody is toting weapons and living in remote towns and villages in areas that are probably not even mapped.

And all without any kind of organised logistics back-up, heavy artillery, air cover, armored units?

And all within a space of 3 weeks?

All I have seen is footage of what seems at most, groups of maybe 10-15 men, often on motorbikes, causing mayhem in Kabul. That is it.

In this age of the mobile phone then You Tube should be awash with footage of truck loads of Taliban moving into town after town. There is some of Taliban being greeted by enthusiastic crowds but to my cynical eye, most of those seem staged. Very much after the fact.

Something is very, very amiss with the entire picture here.

Or deliberately causing chaos. Sorry, no other way of looking upon it. Iraq, Libya, Syria and now this current debacle.

No. We are being played big time over this.

Given some of the high profile events of the past I was somewhat anti Libya for quite a long time, whilst living in the UAE at a certain point in time I was tasked with driving a group of Libyans several hundred miles to go & see some machines working(I was going to be with them the whole day) I honestly didnt know how I was going to feel about doing this but - I picked them up, we chatted in the car & within 15 minutes we were all on the same page & it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience -

Yeah, lots of us would probably get on more than we'd think. People didn't use to have to agree on everything to get on. No one needs to be a carbon copy.

As I said, happy to be educated but I am not seeing any evidence of this Army collapse. In fact, barely seeing anything at all which makes me wonder if the ANA were even given orders to oppose the advance.

Countries, even ones as f***ed up as Afghanistan, do not collapse like that. Armies with command structures, do not just melt away into seemingly nothing.

More than willing to concede that I can be perhaps a tad paranoid but this entire scenario does not add up in any rational or logical way.

Tbh matov i think were thinking along similar lines, i was just thinking out loud of reasons there was little resistance.

Looks like the order was given for the ana to stand down and hand over weapons.

Certainly during the week before there were just stories of the Taliban had taken over this town or this province, I dont remember any stories of this battle or that battle - maybe I wasnt paying enough attention ?

There are pockets of ANA resistance, but im assuming its difficult to get reports of whats happening in the arse end of nowhere.
Ive seen one night battle video of the ANA taking on the Taliban and the ANA were putting out a serious amount of firepower but its impossible to tell if its even in Afghanistan.

What is happening is a huge build up of ANA forces in the Panjshir region

Its not over yet & the Taliban to me seem overly stretched.

I see Western media are fawning over the Badri 313 unit which is apparently some Taliban special forces unit.
Was looking at some pics of them on the Daily Mail website and the attached popped up.

Theyre a bunch of f***ing Larpers, not even the Airsoft community would be this amateur.

Hopefully they are trained to a high standard and put a bullet in every taliban they find. I did suspect something going on as matov said it didn't add up. maybe the Ana purposely left to regroup. Now going back to take back areas in a strategic organised way. Let's hope this is happening and the sad deaths so far are collateral damage which will be worth it.

Hopefully if this is legit then they have air power from the west. There are protests happening in many towns which could be the catalyst to finally show the taliban the door. One worry is a loose bullet from the soldiers doing the evacuation could start a fire fight although I would imagine that eyes are on and the whereabouts of the taliban hierarchy are only a drone strike away. Maybe been a bit too quick and too spread out and far too cocky
