Chamionship strikers dont cut it in the Prem. Gayle, Adams, Solanke, Maupay, Brewster - all recent ticket buys, but with terrible goal scoring records.

Play to Benteke's strengths, develop Rob Street and David Omilabu, look for good developing talent elsewhere at a reasonable price.

Will be interesting to see how many goals Armstrong and Toney score this season.

We have brought in 2 central defenders to replace aged ones in the twilight of their careers.Olise untried in the top flight but so was Eze.Gallagher will provide energy but will collect a few yellows !

There are still concerns about the full-back positons and we haven't managed to bring in a striker but we have had not had any money from outgoing transfers and spent nearly £45 Million in the transfer market.

Here you go again about fullbacks - we have 7 - how many more do you want..!!

We need another wide man and a striker - then job done and an excellent window IMO..!!

Come on Viera and COYP..!!

For avoidance of doubt I was not being critical of Messrs Guehi,Andersen and Olise.

I have concerns that we might be found wanting in certain areas and thus far we have not signed players in these roles. However as I stated we have already spent nearly £45 Mill in transfers and received nothing from sales.

So are you suggesting we don't have any more to spend or what? Yes we've not received any funds for departed players but we have reduced our annual player wages bill by at least £10m.

The fact that we are clearly looking to fill at least two more positions suggests there is still money available, although one of those positions might be filled with a loan if we can get one.

Currently we have Ward and Clyne at right-back.Ferguson hasn't played for months due to injury and has only had 21 senior games.
We have Mitchell at left-back with Hannam as backup and both are inexperienced in the top-flight.
The full-back areas do concern me but there is only so much money in the 'Pot'.

Simple fact is the players we binned off held no market value whether contracted or not! All +30yo’s and the only way we could get on them off the wage bill was to let their contracts run down. I really can’t see why you are unhappy about this??

Dann, Cahill and Wickham still don’t have clubs yet. Speaks volumes about the lack of interest from all clubs. No wonder given their age, wage demands or injury history.

With respect you have mis-interpreted my sentiments.
I was not advocating that we should have retained those players who were in the twilight of their careers and past their best.

I was just asserting the fact that we have had a number of players depart and not received a penny for them. We are in a re-building phase with no income from any sales but this situation could change of course.

Think we have had a brilliant window so far, 2 solid centre backs was the most important, young flair in Olise, and everyone seems to be neglecting the young talent we have already at the club..
A quality midfield player like Anguissa would suit us, and a wide player(Nelson).... Feel the only striker we should be chasing is Edouard, and our coaches know if that is feasible 👍

Completely agree... Also I've been calling for Anguissa for a while but based on latest reports, it doesn't look like he's staying at Fulham and has many suitors from la liga and serie A

Our strike force was lacking last season and the obvious reason we scored so few goals. Currently we face the same problem. Not signing Armstrong is a mistake and one that will cause Parish to heave and sigh.

The argument that ‘we didn’t create’ in midfield is only true to a limited extent. The reality is that last season was plagued by fluffed striker chances and a lack of speed and positional awareness in the box. Benteke has very heavy slow legs and has his pocket picked at most close quarter encounters. Sorry but you know it’s true.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Agree, I was torn between ignoring this rubbish (which isn’t funny and is ignorant) and saying something.

Mods could you remove the offending post?

May be I am in the minority but I personally find this cringe worthy. So bl**dy what the about the Hundred and what your sexual orientation is.

Sorry this just encourages people to pick up ad hoc comments such as this and give this site an undeserved reputation.

I am normally Parish's biggest critic over his transfer policies but must say that I agree with him this time. He had a view on what an untested at this level striker would be worth to us and refused to pay any more. He may be proved to be right or he may well be wrong but we obviously have more irons in the fire so let's wait and see who we get instead before we start criticizing him
