Try forgetting you watched the game and reading that interview on BBC sport tomorrow. The review of the game will be kind to Roy, he just managed to write it. I think that disconnect between what he says and what actually happened is part of the reason people think he shouldn’t be held to blame for anything. Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't want to slag off his players in public.

What manager do you know who actually says what happened in dressing room jee??? You seem to know a lot about management ,

Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't want to slag off his players in public. Correct. 5 minutes before that interview he was screaming at the players. He is not a happy man and what he says on camera is not what he thinks or feels.

Does anyone even know if we have the funds to spend on the new players we so evidently need? Or is Roy going to be kept and asked to flog our aging, thin squad until it falls apart?!

100% and more in agreement with you!! Originally posted by robdave2k
There is absolutely no enjoyment watching this Palace team. And Roy for all his “humility” is a very arrogant man. If his eye for a signing is McCarthy and Kouyate then any money he is given will go on more defensive midfielders. Sorry, crap defensive midfielders. This is a side paralysed, a reflection of what appears to be a sadly aging and stubborn manager, who refuses to try anything remotely new - even when effectively given a free pass. He takes every training session - well he should be taking responsibility for the injuries too - as there is clearly something awry. Roy shored England up. But after that he was very limited. The sad thing is he is destroying his legacy here. Can’t help but feel the lack of crowds is helping to save him. There is no guarantee he keeps us up next year as nothing will change.

He just seemed to be wandering around aimlessly like he was trying to shake hands with the invisible man. No eye-contact between him or any of the players. It just looks like the players aren't interested anymore. It was a tough one tonight. Ultimately, Traore got the better of Mitchell twice. Even though it might have helped Mitchell a bit if Schlupp tracked back to double up on him. We've had a lot of injuries, which is unfortunate, but then we've used a relied on a small number of aging players to cover most of the games with very few subs. He's currenly 7th in time served as a manager in the premier league. Out of the 6 that have been in the job longer, 5 have one promotion, 1 has one the league. It's not a bad innings, but it's not going to get better.

We need a complete squad over haul but we may just get away for one more year with 3 decent signings and a lot of luck with injuries.
