Saudi's just pulled out of buying Newcastle so that rules them out.

With the Newcastle takeover collapsing perhaps we should turn the tables and bid for Saint Maximin.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

We'll end up with Jordan Ibe because he's free and Saint Maximin, at 23, is a £40m+ player being looked at by the European sides. Way out of our league now, in much the same way Zaha is now out of Newcastle's. With the number of signings we have to make, unless we get a huge wedge for Zaha (looks unlikely), I'd be really surprised to see us pay more than £15m for anyone.

You know what the other solution might be? Hold on to Wilf, and bring in the players that would make it a more than one man team, while keeping the man formerly known as the one man. Instead of shipping Wilf, buying other players, and then being a Wilf-less multi-man team. Where is the money coming from for this? Do you have faith in the scouting network?

News feeds allover Moan U's percentage of any transfer we receive. Reports say that will increase the value we put on him. IMO we should get as much as we can however mindfully aware of the sell on clause and his age. Wilf deserves a chance to play somewhere else and has added more than anyone to our time in the premiership. I know its a team game but he in the past has been outstanding, maybe not so this season. I think if we can net in excess of £35m we should let him go. Wherever he plays he will get signalled out for special treatment and his frustration is plain to see. Let him get the treatment somewhere else which will allow us to perhaps change the way we play?

When you consider Arsenal, apparently paid £70 million for Pepe, you could ask were they ever serious about Zaha.? Everton, who knows. Both of these would take him if he fell into their arms, but was it mainly to wind Palaces best player and club up. If so it worked , it’s a ploy from way back so possible. If any club really want Zaha, they are going to pay £60 mill + . Even allowing for the Covid effect. When he is doing it he is worth every penny .. Arsenal thought they could get Wilf on the cheap, so when the bulls*** didn't work they went for Pepe and got proper mugged off.

The guy is an absolute legend as far as I’m concerned and the best I’ve seen in a Palace shirt. Consider his contribution to stopping us slipping into League One and promotion to the Premier League. Then our seven years staying there and an FA Cip final. That said he clearly has his share of baggage and will be 28 in November so it’s hard to see who will want the risk and cost.

I’d snap their arm off for that
'Impulse' advert- Advertising campaign whose slogan is expected to change in the light of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination: 'If someone you don't know suddenly offers you flowers- run like f***!' |

Wilf (you would assume on the basis of his advisers advice) signed a longterm contract which gave him a higher wage, removed his buyout clause and in effective terms tied him to club for rest of career (or we decided to sell him at a price we determined). Wilf it appears regrets signing this as for the second season running he is trying to break that contract and engineer a transfer at terms that suit him (not the club) After the pandemic (and its associated financial uncertainty) plus Wilfs performances this year there is an even greater gap between what he is worth in the open market compared to his value to the club. Wilf himself is the only one who can help bridge this gap. Reports from last year seemed to show that he was also loking for a pay rise from a move. it is very unlikely he will get that as only top 4 clubs pay those sorts of wages. So in order to get a move he may have to take a drop in pay (is he willing) If he signs for another club he and his advisors will get a percentage of fee plus some sort of signing or agent fees. Wilf and his advisors could pay all of the majority back to the club. These sort of actions would enable Palace to decrease asking price with percentage going to Man U This may be the difference between us agreeing to sell or not sell
