Denly our for 94

No surprise there.

He strikes me as the Tim Henman of cricket. Decent enough but lacking the mental strength of a winner.

I get the 'Mark Butcher' vibe.....the around '34' test average batsman.

I think he has the right attitude, but hasn't got it talent wise against the better quicks.....but he did well today on a flat pitch.

313 -8 at close. Can we get the 19 runs needed to take the chase to make the Aussies chase a 400+ runs?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

No wonder they cheer when Leach walks out, he gets behind the line and can play the forward defensive shot.

Well originally we were told that Archer could bat so hopefully.

382 ahead on a day 4 wicket with 2 wickets remaining. Negativity on HOL?

It’s game over. Not good enough for most.

If you believe the pundits Archer has gone from all rounder to tail ender in the space of just one series

Not letting that one slide stirls.
Talent wise Butcher would walk into this current side. Did you not consider his batting average may be lower because of the bowlers he faced. Warne, murali, Mcgrath, donald, pollock etc etc. All vastly superior than those doing the rounds today

Also a fellow Eagle. Plenty more players you could have maybe picked on.

I wouldn't say I'm being that harsh....just saying it like it is. Butcher isn't the kind of batsman you have in your side if you're going to be threatening the number one or two slots for test sides.

Well, we can compare him to other England batsman of the era and their averages.

Good guy, average test batsman.
