Now he's not that good up front either because of the lack of continuity. Clearly you don’t. Unless, of course, you believed the bs in the mail which was shot down quite quickly. In case you’re wondering, it’s £80k per week & not the £170k they spouted for click bait. He was on a free so we didn’t buy him either. His agent wanted 4 years, we only agreed 3. He needs to get stronger and, by his own admission, improve his English but whatever the future holds, it was hardly a stupid gamble - more a calculated risk. You never know, he might just become the player he should.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

This was not his kind of game and he should not have started. Nor would he if we hadn’t run out of options My view is he is a good impact sub, best used against a tiring midfield

Meyer isn't great, but we have to play some creative midfielders at some point. For me, I have no idea how JMac continues to start every game. He's a bench player, for depth. Luka is the only "must start" of our midfielders. The rest are average at best. I have no idea what JMac and Kouyate contribute to our side. They can't maintain possession, make good passes, or score. So what are they doing out there? Our midfield possession/passing has to be worst in the PL. It's painful to watch.

Meyer is the most creative player we have, he worked hard and passed intelligently, even won a couple of headers. There seems to be some negativity about him on here as if he is supposed to single handedly win every game for us. I would start him and Kouyate all the time. As much as I like Jimmy Mac he had a very poor game and is now being exposed for lack of pace all the time. age catches up.

Meyer IS quality and a far better player than Roy's favourite MacArthur. Give him time please...can pass the ball, can keep it and have a good shot in him.

But how do you know for sure? I've seen reports that it's a staggering 170. Have you seen any reports that it's 80?

If he doesn't play against Huddersfield I'll be fuming - why play him away in a scrap at Burnley, but not home against ultra defensive Brighton, then away against Watford but not home vs the worst team in the league? Please let's just see what he can do in the sort of home match where we need to actually do something with a ton of possession.

I agree, rarely gives the ball away, makes himself available, links up well with Wilf and Bats - every time I see him I think he's one of our better players and he creates.
