i blame RH for this defeat he should of brought on the subs earlier not 10 minutes after we were 2-0 down I would of started Meyer and I would drop tekkers in the next game play zaha on the wing play Meyer from the start and play ayew and kouyate up front and drop MacArthur or schlupp we need to win games we lose next.weekend and the pressure is really on

Will admit you certainly played well 1st half and we seemed to have got lucky with the Capoue tackle .

Maybe won't be so fortunate against the bigger sides!

We came out the better side 2nd half I thought though.

Glad that header at the end was wide - maybe summed up your day !?

Pereyra and Doucoure looked very good. You managed the game out at the end, even if it was awful to watch, it was professional. I think a draw was more reflective of the game as a whole, but we were never really very good except in brief flashes. I still think the weather player a role in the poor quality of the football on show from both sides.

One big talking point is obviously Capoue's horrendous challenge. That was straight out of the 1970s. It does make it worse that he then was largely responsible for one of your goals. One day a club will actually try and defend against Zaha rather than just trying to hurt him. He will unlikely ever have a cool head, so I suppose he will continue to be targeted.

Overall a game to forget (obviously more so for us!!)

Problem is mainly down to having a weaker midfield than last season and we had a weaker back four today - not sure why we Have started this season with a weaker team but we have?

We were out muscled today at times and quite a few players were not playing at their best, especially in the second half.

Tomkins loss was hard to take and I just pray it is nothing too serious as our squad looks very thin in that position.

Main positive was Meyer's impact when he came on, and how Wilf improved once placed back on the left. They linked up well on a few occasions.

Main issue - Benteke shows no strength at all, can't hold the ball up, still looks completely shot of confidence and now he can't even win headers.

He needs to be dropped from the squad completely and put in the reserves and told that when he starts to score again on a regular basis he will be back in the team. Enough is enough...

I would start Ayew against Swansea(if allowed) and if not give Sorloth a game to see how he plays for a full 90 minutes.

Must start Meyer in next league game as he could be the link we need from the defensive midfielders to the attack. Guaita, Ayew, Kouyate must all be close to starting too. Still looks promising as long as Roy does give them a chance and dosen't keep sticking to the same 11.

I am sure we will sort things out and will have no problems this year, but wouldn't it be nice if we could get on a run early this season and start looking up rather than down all the time.

I've answered this question already. Watch it again. Hennessey comes off his line about 2 feet anticipating a cross. However it wasn't a cross... Whether he meant it or not it was a shot.

If he stays where he was he saves it

That is simply not true. A keeper has to try and anticipate the cross in that situation and he was standing in the right position 99 times out of a hundred. It was simply a fluke which no keeper could have anticipated or saved as they would have been exactly where Hennessey was.

I know people will criticise me for being partisan, but I'm just back from the pub.

I thought that challenge on Wilf in the sixth minute was awful.

Nowhere near the ball. Premeditated and vicious.

Am I barking at the moon?

Is it just me?

Some great hindsight pastings for Roy here.
Tekkers may be close to being dropped I should think but we have had previously had 2 games were the team had performed reasonably well as unit.
Also I wouldn't be too keen to use subs against a team of kickers.

Except it's not hindsight, is it? We were urging for some action to be taken at the 55th-60th minute.

right lets get the first thing out the way it was a red card foul.

Now the rest of the game Teke must be used as a sub, we have good skillful players that can take defenses apart we dont need high balls,

so Ayew is a good match for this,Meyer looked fine wont give him more than that at the moment,

Sorry Roy but you are crap at subs and changing the game,I still love him but he needs to be able to game change, we have the players.

anybody who thinks a miss kick should be saved doesnt live in the real world,WH had a good game in poor conditions,

for me Ayew next match drop Teke,Meyer for Mcarther tough call on that one,

we need to play to our best players strengths

I'm sure he'll abandon every iota of experience he's accumulated after a lifetime in the game in favour of the knee-jerk opinion of some random bloke on a fans' message board.

Do you really think that what's crossing your mind hasn't crossed his?

Quite possibly, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't question it. He clearly knows a lot more than anyone on this board ever will about football, even so, if you can't find an explanation for something, question it.

I thought Benteke played quite well and certainly better than some other players especially in mid field. It was a poor decision to replace him at the end when there were to great balls into the box. However we were very disappointing and second best for most of the second half. I think RH needs to read the riot act and definitely make changes for the next match.

I do wonder since Steve Reid has left the club if that extra opinion and influence is missing on the bench. I know Hodgson rated Steven Reid highly and so did the players.
