Doubtless I could find some examples if I spent weeks looking but that wouldn't really prove my point of it took me so long. So I'm gonna give you this one. In fact BBC online is full of the kind of liberal fluff that gets on a lot of people's tits. I only ever look at it for the weather and occasionally the football results. But please do me a favour and tell me where you see "obvious position taking" as I don't see any of that either. Surely this thread is full of examples. While we may differ on things you appear to be kind of honest, which is worthwhile whatever side of the political line a person is on.

I take your point, however this “tax” is avoidable by choosing not to use the services that it covers. Not really. If you wanted to watch only non-BBC content on say Sky or Virgin you still have to pay for a licence. You even need a licence if you watch non-BBC content on a computer. Only if you don't watch any TV broadcasting at all do you avoid having to have a licence. The proper way to fund the BBC would be for us to subscribe to it through our digital services, just like any other broadcaster.

Unfortunately, BBC4 and the absence of adverts are two things it has going for it.
